AN ORDINANCE CF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF BALDWIN PARK AMENDING SECTION 9212 OF THE
BALDWIN PARK MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO SUB-
DIVISION REGULATIONS. URGENCY ORDINANCE)
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK DOES ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That Section 9212 of the Baldwin Park Municipal Code
is hereby amended to read as follows:
9219. pproval of Tenitive Maps. Tentative tract maps shall be sub-
mitted to the Planning Commission for its consideration; thereafter
the Commission shall recommend to the Council the approval, condition-
al apprbval or denial of any such map. When the Commission recommends
approval of such a map, it shall include such recommendation suggested
conditions of approval. Thereafter each such map shall be submitted
to the Council for action; the Council shall approve, conditionally
approve, or deny approval for such map. The action of the Council
shall be final and conclusive.
SECTION 2. That this Ordinance is declared to be an urgency
ordinance, necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace,
health and safety within the City of Baldwin Park. A statement of facts
constituting its urgency is as follows:
a) That the design of lots and streets in areas
proposed for subdivision is extremely important
for the proper development within the City; and
b) That the public interest requires that both
the Planning Commission and Council of said City
examine each proposed subdivision, and consider
the Staff reports relating thereto, prior to such
maps being approved; and
c) That the regulations, now in existance, relating to
approval of such maps are, in many respects, un-
workable and unsuitable to the proper development
of properties within the City; and
d) That the procedure established by this ordinance is
immediately required by the public interest and
convenience.
SECTION 3. That this ordinance is declared to be an urgency
ordinance, and, pursuant to Section 36937 of the Government Code of the
State of California, and upon its adoption, the same shall take effect
immediately.
SECTION 4. That the City Clerk shall certify to the adopt-
ion of this Ordinance, and cause the same to be posted in the manner
prescribed by law.
