ANMXATI ON NO. 13.'1
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK DOES
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The City Council o£ the City of Baldwin
Park does hereby find, determine and declare as follows:
a) That under, pursuant to, and in accordance with,
the provisions of the Annexation of Uninhabited Territory
Act of 1939," as amended, the City Council of the City of
Baldwin Park, in due course, on its own motion, initiated pro-
ceedings for the annexation to the said City of uninhabited
territory hereinafter described; and
b) That prior to the initiation by the City Council
of said City of the proceedings for the annexation of said
territory to the City of Baldwin Park, the same was submitted
to and reported upon favorably by the Boundary Commission of Los
Angeles Couaty with respect to the definiteness and certainty
of the proposed boundaries of said territory; and
c) That thereafter the City Council did, at a regular
meeting thereof, on June 5, 1963, duly adopt Resolution No.
63-69, initiating said proceedings and giving notice of the
proposed annexation, which resolution specifically described
the boundaries of the territory so proposed to be annexed to
the Citx of Baldwin Park, and designating the same as Annexatior
No. 13,° and
d) That said resolution was duly published in accord-
ance with law, which said resolution contained a notice of the
day, hour and place when and where, the City Council would hear
protests made by any person owning real property within the
territory proposed to be annexed, and said publications were
completed twenty 20) days prior to the date of such hearing;
e) That the City Clerk did, not less than twenty(20)
days before the public hearing on the proposed annexation,
cause a written notice, in accordance with the provisions of
the Government Code, of said proposed annexation to be
mailed to each person to whom land within the territory pro-
posed to be annexed is assessed on the last preceding equalized
County Assessment Roll available on the date the proceedings
were initiated, at the address shown on said assessment roll; anc

such hearing for a date not less than forty 40) days nor more
than sixty 60) days from the date of the adoption of such
resolution, to it.: for 8;00 o'clock P.M. on July 17, 1963,
before said City Councl.l at the City Hall, Baldwin Park,
California; and
g) That at the t3-ne se: aforesaid, to wit, July 17, 1963,
at 8:00 o'clock F. M. of said day, s&id matter duly came before
said City Council at a regular meeting thereof for hearing; and
h) That protests having been filed, thereafter the
said hearing was closed, the City Council duly adopted Resolu-
tion No. 63-97, finding and determining that a majority protest
had not been made; and
i) That the property and territory hereinafter speci-
fically described, is contiguous to the corporate limits of
the City of Baldwin Park and is uninhabited within the meaning
of the Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939.''
SECTION 2. That the annexation to the City of Baldwin
Park of the territory hereinafter described, which territory was
designated in the resolution and notice of said City Council
as Annexation No. 1V be, and the same is hereby approved,
and that the following described property be, and the same is
hereby annexed to, incorporated in, and made a part of the City
of Baldwin Park, to wit:
Beginning at an angle point in the southerly boundary
of the City of Baldwin Park, as said boundary existed
on April 13, 1963, said angle point being the inter-
section of a line which is parallel with and distant
northwesterly 20 feet, measured at right angles from
the southeasterly line of Lot 48 in Tract No. 718, as
per map recorded in Book 17, page 17 of Maps, in the
office of the County Recorder of said county, with a
line which is parallel with and distant southerly 35
feet measured at right angles from the northerly line
of the land conveyed to the Los Angeles Count Flood
Control District 300 feet wide at this point in
Parcel 116 in a Final Order of Condemnation had in
Superior Court Case No. 625315, a certified copy of
which is recorded in Book 51842, page 354 of Official
Records of said county; thence along said first
mentioned parallel line, South 38' 29' 34" West
24.87 feet, more or less, to a line which has a bearing
of North 88° 16' 56" West and which passes through a
point in the center line of Baldwin Park Boulevard,
60 feet wide, shown as Covina Street on said map of
Tract No. 718, distant therein North 38° 29' 34' East
555.97 feet from a monument set by the Surveyor of
said county and as shown on Los Angeles County Flood
Control District Right-of-Way Map filed in the office
of the County Engineer of said county, as County
Surveyor's Filed Map No. 12407-4, for the location
of the intersection of said center line of Baldwin
Park Boulevard with the northerly line of 0. T. Bassett's
Subdivision of the Workman Tract, as shown on map
ORD 296ê79wR ×P ï ~ recorded in Book 59, pages 4 to 9, inclusive, of
Miscellaneous Records, in the office of said
recorder- thence along said last described line,
North 88= 16' 56" West 103.2 feet, more or less,
to said southerly boundary of the City of Baldwin
Park; thence easterly along said boundary of the
City of Baldwin Park to the point of beginning.
Said territory shall be designated as Annexation No. 13."
SECTION 3. That the City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this ordinance, and shall cause the same to be
published or posted as required by law, and thirty days from
and after the final passage thereof shall file a certified
copy thereof with the Secretary of State of the State of
California, and after such certified copy has been so filed
and a certificate of the Secretary of State certifying to its
filing has been received by the City, the City Clerk shall
file a copy of the map of said territory with the following:
The County Surveyor of Los Angeles County; the County Recorder
of Los Angeles County; the Board of Supervisors of the County
of Los Angeles; the county Assessor of said County; the
County Engineer of said County; the Board of Equalization
of the State of California, and the Census Bureau of the
United States Government.
