AN ORDITANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF BALDWIN PARK APPROVING THE
ANNEXATION TO, INCORPORATING IN AND
MAKING A PART OF SAID CITY, CERTAIN
UNINHABITED TERRITORY OUTSIDE THE SAID
CITY AND CONTIGUOUS THERETO, KNOWN AS
ANNEXATION NO. A."
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK DOES
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Baldwin
Park does hereby find, determine and declare as follows:
a) That under, pursuant to, and in accordance with
the provisions of the Annexation of Uninhabited Territory
Act of 1939,`° as amended, the City Council of the City of
Baldwin Park, in due course, on its own motion, initiated pro-
ceedings for the annexation to the said City of uninhabited
territory hereinafter described; and
b) That prior to the initiation by the City Council
of said City of the proceedings for the annexation of said
territory to the City of Baldwin Park, the same was submitted
to and reported upon favorably by the Boundary Commission of
Los Angeles County with respect to the definiteness and certainty
of the proposed boundaries of said territory; and
c) That thereafter the City Council did, at a regular
meeting thereof, on June 5, 1963, duly adopt Resolution No.
63-70, initiating said proceedings and giving notice of the
proposed annexation, which resolution specifically described
the boundaries of the territory so proposed to be annexed
to the City of Baldwin Park, and designating the same as
Annexation No. 14;'° and
d) That said resolution was duly published in accord-
ance with law, which said resolution contained a notice of the
day, hour and place when and where, the City Council would
hear protests made by any person owning real property within
the territory proposed to be annexed, and said publications
were completed twenty 20) days prior to the date of such
hearing; and
e) That the City Clerk did, not less than twenty
20) days before the public hearing on the proposed annexation,
cause a written notice, in accordance with the provisions of
the Government Code, of said proposed annexation to be
mailed to each person to whom land within the territory pro-
posed to be annexed is assessed on the last preceding equal-
ized County Assessment Roll available on the date the proceed-
ings were initiated, at the address shown on said assessment
roll and

Park set such hearin for a date not less than forty 40) days
nor more than sixty f60) days from the date of the adoption
of such resolution, to wit: for 8:00 o'clock P. M. on July 17,
1963, before said City Council at the City Hall, Baldwin Park,
California; and
g) That at the time set aforesaid, to with, July 17,
1963, at 8:00 o'clock F. M. of said day, said matter duly came
before said City Council at a regular meeting thereof for
hearing; and
h) That protests having been filed, thereafter the
said hearing was closed, the City Council duly adopted Resolu-
tion No. 63-98, finding and determining that a majority protest
had not been made; and
i) That the property and territory hereinafter
specifically described, is contiguous to the corporate limits
o£ the City of Baldwin Park and is uninhabited within the
meaning of the Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939."
SECTION 2. That the annexation to the City of Baldwin
Park of the territory hereinafter described, which territory
was designated in the resolution and notice of said City Council
as Annexation No. 14" be, and the same is hereby approved,
and that the following described property be, and the saw is
hereby annexed to, incorporated in, and made a part of the
City of Baldwin Park, to wit:
Beginning at an angle point in the westerly boundary of
the City of Baldwin Park, as said boundary existed on
April 13, 1963, said angle point being in the northerly
line of the land conveyed to the Los Angeles County Flood
Control District, 300 feet wide at this point) in Parcel
116 in a Final Order of Condemnation had in Superior
Court Case No. 625315, a certified copy of which is
recorded in Book 51842,pa ge 354, of Official Records of
said county distant therein South 82° 07' 39" West
251.49 feet from the southeasterly line of Lot 48 in
Tract No. 718, as per map recorded in Book 17, page 17 of
Maps, in the office of said recorder; thence Sout7° 52•
21'° East along said westerly boundary of the City of
Baldwin Park 23.81 feet more or less, to a line which
has a bearing of North 98' 161 56" West and which passes
through a point in the center line of Baldwin Park
Boulevard, 60 feet wide, shown as Covina Street on said
map of Tract No. 718, distant therein, North 38° 29' 34°'
East 555.97 feet from a monument set by the Surve qor of
said county and as shown on Right-of-Way Map of the
Los Angeles County Flood Control District filed as County
Surveyor's Filed Map No. 12407-4 in the office of the
County Engineer of said county, for the location of the
intersection of said center line of Baldwin Park Boulevard
with the northerly line of 0. T. Bassett's Subdivision
of the Workman Tract, as shown on map recorded in Book
59, pages 4 to 9, inclusive of MiscelLaneous Records,
in the office of s$id Recorder; thence along said last

or less, to a point which is distant therein North
88° 16' 56" West 299.59 feet from said center line of
Baldwin Park Boulevard; thence South 87° 37' 24°" West
132.08 feet, more or less to the southerly boundary of
the City of Baldwin:Park, as said boundary existed on
April 13, 1963; thence easterly along said boundary of
the City of Baldwin Fark to the point of beginning.
Said territory shall be designated as Annexation No. 14."
SECTION 3. That the City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this ordinance, and shall cause the same to be
published or posted as required by law, and thirty days from
and after the final passage thereof shall file a certified
copy thereof with the Secretary of State of the State of
California, and after such certified copy has been so filed
and a certificate of the Secretary of State certifying to its
filing has been received by the City, the City Clerk shall
file a copy of the map of said territory with the following:
The County Surveyor of Los Angeles County; the County Recorder
of Los Angeles County; the Board of Supervisors of the County
of Los Angeles; the County Assessor of said County; the
County Engineer of said County; the Board of Equalization
of the State of California, and the Census Bureau of the
United States Government.
