AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF BALDWIN PARK ADDING SECTION
9119.72 TO THE BALDWIN PARK MUNICIPAL
CODE, RELATING TO PERMITTED ENCROACHMENTS
INTO REAR YARD AREAS.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK DOES OR-
DAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION That duly noticed public hearings having
b;:en held before the Planning Commission and City Cuuncil
in the manner prescribed by law, Section 9119.72 is here-
by added to the Baldwin Park Municipal Code, to read as
follows. 9119.72. Porches, patios, platforraE, landing
places. Permitted in rear yards. Porches, patios, plat-
forms or landing places, which do not extend above the
level of the first floor of the main building, may extend
into required rear yard areas not more than ten feet, and
the same may be covered, but shall: a) remain permanently
open on at least three sides; and b) must be intended to,
and actually serve as, an outdoor living area and may not
be used for sleeping purposes; and c) no portion of the
structure, including eaves, may encroach into any part of
the rear most five feet of such required rear yard areas."
SECTION 2: That the City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this ordinance and cause the same to be posted
in the manner prescribed by law.
PASSED AND APPROVED this 18 day of December 1963.

meeting of the City Council on the 18th day of December, 1963, by
