AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK AMENDING
SECTION 14248.6 OF.THE BALDW I N PARK
MUNICIPAL CODE DECLARING,THE URGENCY
OF THIS ORDINANCE AND. CONTAINING A
STATEMENT OF FACTS CONSTITUTING ITS
URGENCY
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK DOES ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That Section 1A8.6 of the Baldwin Park
Municipal Code is hereby amended, by adding thereto, as subsection 6),
the following=
4248.6. Regulations For Use.
6) That during the month of December, permits
may be granted for the non-commercial use
of Sound Trucks, between the hours of
6:00 p.m..and 10:00 p.m.; provided that
such permits shall be issued only to
religious, educational, civic and charitable
organizations."
SECTION 2. That this ordinance is declared to be an
urgency ordinancq the facts constituting such urgency are as follows:
a) that exceptions to the time provisions of Section
4248.6 of the Baldwin Park Municipal Code, are necessary to
permit caroling daring the Christmas season, as is
customarily permitted in other cities throughout the State;
and
b) If this ordinance is not immediately adopted, the
public interest will suffer in that Christmas caroling by
church, and similar groups, will not be permitted.
SECTION 3. That this ordinance shall take effect
immediately upon its adoption. The City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this ordinance and cause the same to be posted in the
manner prescribed by law.
