AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF BALDWIN PARK ADDING SECTION 8200.1
TO THE BALDWIN PARK MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING
TO AN AMENDMENT TO THE UNIFORM PLUMBING CODE-
1961 EDITION.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK DOES ORDAIN
AS FOL LWS
SECTION 1. That Section 8200.1 is hereby added to the
Baldwin Park Municipal Code, relating to certain amendments to
the Uniform Plumbing Code, 1961 Edition, heretofore adopted by
Wgrence as a part of said Municipal Code, the same to read as
116 h ows
8200.1 Same. Amendments. Subparagraph a) of Section
409 and Subparagraph b) of Section 1119 of the Uniform
Plumbing Code-1961 Edition, as adopted by Section 8200
hereof, are hereby amended to read, respectively, as
follows:
Sec. 409 Drainage Below Curb and Also Below Main
Sewer Level
a) Drainage piping serving fixtures that are
located below the elevation of the curb or property
line, at the point where the building sewer crosses
under the curb or property line, and above the crown
level of the main sewer, shall drain by gravity into
the main sewer, and may be protected from back flow
of sewage by installing on approved type back water
valve, and each such backwater valve shall be in-
stalled only in that branch or section of the drain-
age system which receives the discharge from fixtures
located below the elevation of the curb or property
line.
Sec. 1119 Abandoned Sewers and Sewage Disposal Facilities
b) Every cesspool,septic tank, unless constructed
of concrete, and seepage pit which has been abandoned
or has been discontinued otherwise from further use or
to which no waste or soil pipe from a plumbing fixture
is connected, shall have the sewage removed therefrom
and be completely filled with earth, sand, gravel, con-
prete or other approved material.
SECTION 2. That the City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this Ordinance and cause the same to be published or
posted in the manner prescribed by law.
