AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF BALDWIN PARK AMENDING SECTION 2602 OP THE
BALDWIN PARK MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO
HOLIDAYS AND DECLARING THIS TO BE AN URGENCY
ORDINANCE
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK DOES ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWSt
SECTION I. That Section 2602 of the Baldwin Park Municipal
Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
Section 2602. City Office Hours. The general
City off Tees shall be closed on Saturdays and on the
following legal hoiidayss Sundays, January I,
February 22, May 50, July L|-» 1'ne first Monday in
September, September 9, November II, Thanksgiving
Day, December 2$, Good Friday from 12s00 noon until
5;00 p.m., and every other day as may be so designated
by motion of the City Council,"
SECTION 2. That this ordinance is hereby declared o be
an urgency ordinance and shall take effect immediatefy. A statement
of facts constituting the same as en urgency ordinance is as foNows;
a. That many other cities, as well as County and
State offices will be closed on the day proceeding
ChrTs+mas and New Yea^s in this present year; and
b* That the Baldwin Park Municipal Code does not
presently provide for a holiday on a Friday where the
actual holiday falls on a Saturday; and
c. That it s In the public interest to permit,
at the discretion of the City Council, the granting of
holidays under such circumstances.
SECTION 5. That the City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this ordinance and the same shall take effect immediately.
PASSED AND APPROVED this 15th day of December. 1965.
