AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK ADDING
SECTION 9555 TO THE BALDWIN PARK
MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO THE
ZONING REGULATIONS APPLICABLE TO
R-l ZONES WITHIN THE CITY.
URGENCY ORDBNANCE)
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1« That Section 9555 Is hereby added to the Baldwin Park
Municipal Code, to read as follows;

of Sections 9551 through 9555* inclusive hereof, as adopted and amended by
Ordinance No, ii.65*
I* Said regulations as therein contained, shall not be applied,
so as to render noncon form ing, the foNowings
a» Any lot upon which a single family dwelling unit,
including accessory uses Is located, which was tn existence as
of October 19» 1966, and which conformed to the former provisions
of Sections 9551 through 955U» Inclusive, of the Baldwin Park
Municipal Code, as the same were in effect on October 19» 1966(
and
b. Any property included In a tentative tract map which
received approval prior to the 19th day of October, 1966,
provided that if a final subdivision map relating to such
tentative tract map Is not filed and recorded within the time
permitted by law, this subparagraph shall have no further
effect upon such property); and
c. Any lot In any subdivision which was included tn a
final tract map recorded prior to October I9» 1966,
2. Said regulations as therein contained shall not be applied,
so as to prevent, with reference to any of the property described In
this subparagraph I hereof, construction of any building or structure,
or the extension, expansion, reconstruction or remodeling hereafter
work^) of any building or structure which would have been permitted
pursuant to, and by virtue of, the provisions of Sections 9551 through
955kf Inclusive, of the Baldwin Park Municipal Code as the same were
In effect on October 19» 19661 provided that any such new construction
and/or work shall be accomplished In compliance with the said provisions
of Sections 9551 through 955^ Inclusive, of said Code, as the same
were In effect on October 19» 19660
Said Sections 9551 through 955^» inclusive, of said Code, as the
same were In effect on October 19» 1966, for the purpose of this
Section, are Incorporated herein by this reference as If set forth in
full,"
SECTION 2o That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an urgency
ordinance and shall take effect Immediately upon Its adoption, A statement of
facts constituting Its urgency Is as follows?
lo That the City Planning Commission and City Council have
heretofore conducted studies In connection with the revision of
the zoning regulations applicable to the R-l zones within the CItys
and
2o That said studies resulted In the adoption by the City
Council of Ordinance No. 1465, on October 19, 1966, effective as of
November 8p 1966, which accomplished substantial changes n zoning
regulations applicable to R-t zoned property within the City; and

5. That at the time of the adoption of said Ordinance No,
465, the City Council intended to amend the same as introduced,
so as to reflect an exemption for certain existing uses as
hereinabove described in Section I of this Ordinance, but due
to inadvertence, the said amendment failed to be placed in said
Ordinance, with the result that many existing R-l structures
will, if this Ordinance is not made effective immediately,
become non-conforming as well as rendering non-conforming many
lots and subdivisions for which either an approved tentative
map exists, or a final map has been recorded, but no construction
has yet taken place; and
14.. That the Planning Commission has initiated a public
hearing to insert in the City's zoning regulations, substan-
tially the language contained in Section 9555» as hereinabove
set forth; and
5. That it is in the public interest, and the public
convenience and necessity requires that this ordinance be
adopted immediately as an urgency ordinance in order to eliminate
the foregoing condition relating to non-conformity.
SECTION 5. That the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this Ordinance and cause the same to be published in the manner
prescribed by law.
