Home My WebLink AboutORD 485ORD 485x ôÎÁ)ORDINANCE NO. 485 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK APPROVING THE ANNEXATION TO SAID CITY OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY OUT- SIDE SAID CITY ANNEXATION NO. 17). THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Baldwin Park does hereby find, determine and declare as follows: a) That under, pursuant to, and in accordance with, the provisions of the Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939," as amended, the City Council of the City of Baldwin Park, in due course, upon petition, commenced proceedings for the annexation to said City of certain uninhabited territory hereinafter described; and b) That prior to the initiation by the City Council of said Cifey of the proceedings for the annexation of said territory to the City of Baldwin Park, the same was submitted to, and approved by, the Local Agency Formation Commission of Los Angeles County; and c) That the City of West Covina, wherein said property annexed hereby, was located, heretofore consented to its detach- ment pursuant to Section 35304 of the Government Code; and d) That thereafter the City Council did, at a regular meeting thereof, on the 19th day of April, 1967, duly adopt Resolution No67"||8 giving notice of the proposed annexation and setting a hearing thereon, pursuant to Section 35310.1 of the Government Code; said resolution specifically described the boundaries of the territory so proposed to be annexed to the City of Baldwin Park, and designated the same as Annexation No. 17"; and e) That said resolution was duly published in accordance with law, giving notice of the day, hour and place, when and where the City Council would hear protests to said annexation; saiji publications were completed at least four 4) days prior to the date of such hearing; and f) That at the time set aforesaid, to wit: at 8:00 P.M. on May 3, 1967, said matter duly came before said City Council at a regular meeting thereof for hearing; and g) That no protests were filed, and thereafter the said hearing was closed, the City Council duly adopted Resolution No 67-131 approving said annexation; and FinST READSNG...^':.^.':.-^-^...... 1 2."- / f 1 \ SECOND RELADiNG..^.-..^.../.^..-/-. Incorporated in, and made a part of the City of Baldwin Park, to wit: Beginning at the intersection of the City of Baldwin Par^s easterly boundary line as same ex- isted on January 50, 1967 also known as the City of West Covina^ westerly boundary line) and the south- erly line of Lot 15 of Eugene Riggin's Subdivision of the Hathaway Tract as per map recorded in Book 55, page 57 of Miscellaneous Records, in the office of the Los Angeles County Recorder; thence easterly along said southerly line of Lot 15 to the northerly pro- longation of the westerly line of Tract No. 18452, as per map recorded in Book 455, pages 28 and 29, of Maps in the office of said County Recorder; thence south- erly along said northerly prolongation and westerly line of Tract No, 18452; thence continuing southerly along the southerly prolongation of said westerly line to the centeritne of Puente Avenue, formerly Root Street, as shown on map of said Tract No. 18452; thence westerly along said center!ine of Puente Avenue to said City of Baldwin Par^s easterly boundary line also known as the City of West Covina^s westerly boundary line); thence northerly along said easterly boundary line to the point of beginning. SECTION 5. That the City Clerk shall take all steps required by Section 35500 et seq, of the Government Code, to complete said annex- ation. SECTION 4. That the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Ordinance, and shall cause the same to be published as required by law, PASSED AND APPROVED this 17th day of_____M^_______, 1967. /s/ Charles E. That the annexation to the City of Baldwin Park of the territory hereinafter described, which territory was designated in the resolution and notice of said City Council as Annexation No. 17" be, and the same is hereby approved, and that the following described property be, and the same is hereby annexed to, incorpor- ated in, and made a part of the City of Baldwin Park, to wit: Beginning at the intersection of the City of Baldwin Park's easterly boundary line as same existed on January 30, 1967 also known as the City of West Covina's westerly boundary line) and the southerly line of Lot 13 of Eugene Riggin's Sub- division of the Hathaway Tract as per map recorded in Book 53, page 37 of Miscel- laneous Records, in the office of the Los Angeles County Recorder; thence easterly along said southerly line of Lot 13 to the northerly prolongation of the westerly line of Tract No. 18452, as per map recorded in Book 455, pages 28 and 29, of Maps in the office of said County Recorder; thence southerly along said northerly prolongation and westerly line of Tract No. 18452 to the southerly line of said Tract No. 18452; thence continuing southerly along the southerly prolongation of said westerly line to the centerline of Puente Avenue, formerly Root Street, as shown on map of said Tract No. 18452; thence westerly along said centerline of Puente Avenue to said City of Baldwin Park's easterly boundary line also known as the City of West Covina's westerly boundary line); thence northerly along said easterly boundary line to the point of beginning. SECTION 3. That the City Clerk shall take all steps required by Section 35300 et seq. of the Government Code, to complete said annexation. SECTION 4. That the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Ordinance, and shall cause the same to be published as required by law.
