AN ORDINANCE OF TtiE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF BALDWIN PARK CREATING A RECREATION
AND PARK COMMISSION
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK DOES ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS?
SECTION I, That Part 4 entitled Recreation and Park
Commission" i,s hereby added to Chapter 2 of Article II, consisting
of Sections 2230 through 2256 inclusive, to read, respectively,
as to I lows;
2250o Recreation and Park Commission Createdff The
Baldwin Park Recreation and F^ark1 Commission Is hereby
created a
225 L Commission Membershipo The said Commission
shall consist of a total of ftve voting members; of the
members of the Commission first appointed' hereunder, two
shall serve for t^rms of four years each, two for terms
of three years each, and one for a term of two yearSo
Their successors, respectively^ shall be appointed for
four year termso
2232o Appo i ntment of Member So Members of the Com-
mission shalI be appointed by the Mayor with the approval
of the City Council a Any member of the Commission may,
at any time, be removed from such office, with or without
cause, by a majority vote of the City Councilo
2255o Meetlngso The Commission shall conduct Its
regular meetings in the Administration Building in Morgan
Park at Hrries to be established t>y order of the Co^isaiQn.
2234o Organ tzatlono At its organizational meeting^
the Cornmlss ion shall elect one of its members as Chairman
and one of Its members as Vice Chairman, each of whom
shall serve for a term of one yearo The Director of the
Recreation and Parks Department shall serve as the Secre-
tary to the Commission and shall keep a permanent file
of the Cofnmisslon's minutes, resolutions and other official
documents relating to Its business, fhe Director of the
Recreation and Parks Department shall designate the time
and place of the organizational meeting of said Commission*
2235o Absence from MeetlngSo If any member of th^
Corrmfssion shall be absent from three successive regular
meetings of the Commission, without cause, the office of
such Commissioner shall be'deemed to be vapant and the
Secretary of the Commlsslop shall Immediately Inform the
City Council thereofo An absence due to 11 loess, or un1-
avoidable absence from the City shall be deemed an absence
for cause If written notice thereof Is glyen to the Secre-
tary of the Commission on or before the day of any regular
meeting of said Commlsslono
2256o Dutleso The Commission shall make recommend at Ions

and to the City Council with reference to the
operation, maintenance, management and control
of the community recreation program. Such recom-
mendations shall be advisory only. The Commission
shall perform such other duties as may, from time
to time, be assigned to it by the City Council.
Nothing in this Part shall be deemed as re-
stricting or limiting any of the powers or duties
of the City Council.
SECTION 2. That the City Clerk shall certify to
the adoption of this Ordinance and cause the same to
be published in the manner prescribed by law.
