Home My WebLink AboutORD 499ORD 499x ôÎÀORDINANCE NO. 499 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK ADDING CHAPTER 10 TO ARTICLE VIII OF THE BALDWIN PARK MUNICIPAL CODE, RELATING TO HOUSE NUMBERING. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I, That Chapter 10 is hereby added to Article VIII of the Baldwin Park Municipal Code, entitled House Numbering" consisting of Sections 8975 through 89j[j, inclusive,, which shall read as follows? 8975. STREET NUMBERS REQUIRED, All buildings which are designed or utilized for residential, industrial or commercial purposes shall have a street number placed thereon in the manner hereinafter prescribed in this Chapter," 8976, ASS I CLIENT OF NUMBERS, A. Manner of Number ingg All lots shall be numbered as shown on Appendix A, which is adopted by this referance. The original copy of said appendix, entitled House Numbering Grid Map" dated October I, 1967y on file Tn the office of the City Engineer.," 8977o ASSIGNMENT OF NUMBERS, Each block, sofar as possible, shall be bsslgned 100 numbers to be specifically assigned to lots by the City Engineer," 8978 o ASSIGNMENT OF INDIVIDUAL NtJWBERS. The City Engineer shall assign to all lots and buildings specific street numbers consistent with the provisions of this Chapter," 8979. DISPLAY OF NUWERS, The owner and/or person in control and occupancy of any building located on any lot shall cause to be placed on said building, and shall there-* after maintain, the street numbers assigned to such building or lot*. The numeral figures utilized for such purposes shall not be less thgn 5-1/2 inches in height and shall be placed or Iqcated so as to be easily visible from the street frontage of the property. TYPE OF OftARKINGS. HOUSE NUMBERING. Where a permit is issued for house number Ing purposes, as described in Section 8980, markings shall consist of a white field with black letters thereon^ the field shall be reflectortzed by clear glass spherical beads applied with force against the white field paint while the same is still tacky so that the beads will be firmly ponded to the field paint upon drying. The field nd numeral borders shall be sharply defined with no running or blurring of edges. The numerals shall be four inches in height. The field shall have a minimum border of one and one-half 1-1/2) inches at all edges of the numerals. SECTION 2. That the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this ordinance and cause the same to be published in the manner prescribed by law. PASSED AND APPROVED this 4th_____day of October 1967.
