AN ORDINANCE OP THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF BALDWIN PARK REPEALING SECTIONS
4100 THROUGH 4196.4 OF THE BALDWIN PARK
MUNICIPAL CODE AND ADOPTING ORDINANCE
NO. 4729 OF TOE COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES
ENTITLED THE ANIMAL CONTROL ORDINANCE".
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK DOES
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That Chapter 1 of Article IV, of the
Baldwin Park Municipal Code, consisting of Sections 4100
through 4196.4, inclusive, are hereby repealed and rescinded
SECTION 2. That Chapter 1, consisting of Section 4100,
is hereby added to Article IV of the Baldwin Park Municipal
Code, to read as follows:
4100. ADOPTION OF THE ANIMAL CONTROL
ORDINANCE".
a) Adoption, Except for Article VI,
consisting of Sections 601 through 627,
inclusive, the Animal Control Ordinance of
the County of Los Angeles", the same being
Ordinance No. 4729 as amended through, and
including, July 1, 1968, is hereby adopted
by this reference, as the Animal Control
Ordinance for the City of Baldwin Park
hereinafter referred to as Animal Control
Ordinance"). Three 3) copies of said Animal
Control Ordinance are on file in the office
of the City Clerk of the City of Baldwin Park
and are available for inspection by interested
members of the public.
b) Definitions. Wherever in said
Animal Control Ordinance the following words
or phrases are used, they respectively, shall
have the following meanings ascribed to them:
1) County" or County of Los
Angeles" shall mean the City of Baldwin
Park; and
2) County Clerk" shall mean the
City Clerk ot the City of Baldwin Park;
3) Person" shall have the
definition ascribed to it by Section
1314 of this Code; and
4) Unincorporated Territory"
shall be deemed to refer to the Cxty of
Baldwin Park.

c) Penalty. The violation of any
provision ot: the said Animal Control Ordinance
by any person shall be deemed to be a mis-
demeanor and shall be punishable by a fine of
not more than Five Hundred $500.00) Dollars,
or by imprisonment in the County Jail for not
more than six 6) months, or by both. Each
day during any portion of which any violation
of any provision of said Animal Control Ordi-
nance is committed or permitted, shall be
deemed to be a separate offense. Provided
that, in addition to, or in lieu of, criminal
prosecutions of violations of said Ordinance,
the City Council, at its option, may instruct
and direct the City Attorney to file action
to abate a public nuisance with reference to
such violation. Any such violation of the
said Ordinance shall be deemed, for all
purposes, to be a public nuisance,"
SECTION 2. That the City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this Ordinance and cause the same to be published
in the manner prescribed by laWo
PASSED AND APPROVED this 3rd day of Y 1968.
