HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 536ORD 536ÜÂh£Ÿjì¿N¼IORDINANCE NO. 536 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK APPROVING THE ANNEXATION TO SAID CITY OF THAT CERTAIN CONTIGUOUS UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESIGNATED AS CITY OF BALDWIN PARK ANNEXATION NO. 18". THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That the City Council of the City of Baldwin Park did adopt Resolution No.6&-178 entitled A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Baldwin Park Declaring that Proceedings Have Been Initiated by the City Council of the City of Baldwin Park, to Annex to Said City Certain Uninhabited Territory Described Herein and Designated as City of Baldwin Park Annexation No. 18ln, which Resolution recited that the proceedings for the annexation of the territory hereinafter described were initiated on said Council's own motion, stated the reasons, specifically described the boundaries of the territory sought to be annexed to said City and fixed August 21, 1968, at the hour of 8:00 P.M., in the Council Chambers of the City Hall of said City, as the day, hour and place when and where said City Council would hear protests made by any person owning real property within such territory so pro- posed to be annexed to the City of Baldwin Park. SECTION 2. That at said time and place of hearing, said City Council found and determined that the publication of aforesaid Resolution had been made at the times and in the manner required by Section 35300 et seq. of the Govern- ment Code of the State of California, and that written notice of such proposed annexation had been mailed to each person entitled to notice under the provisions of said Government Code; that the territory thus proposed to be annexed was and is, uninhabited, and is contiguous to the City of Baldwin Park; and that the annexation of said territory is authorized by the Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939. SECTION 3. That under, pursuant to and in accordance with, the provisions of the Annexation of Uninhabited Terri- tory Act of 1939, the annexation to the City of Baldwin Park of that certain uninhabited territory contiguous to said City described hereinafter, be, and the same hereby is, ratified, confirmed and approved. That the specific description of the boundaries of said territory, as sub- mitted to and approved by the Local Agency Formation Commission of Los Angeles County, is as follows: Those portions of Rancho La Puente, Rancho San Francisquito, Lot 1 of Tract No. 3278. Tract No. 19500 and Tract No. 15954, in the County of Los Angeles, State of California, as per map recorded in Book 1, page 43 of Patents, map recorded in Book 1, page 31 of Patents, map filed in Book 36, page 41, map filed in Book 532, pages 39-43 and map filed in Book 454, pages 28-29 of Maps respectively, in the office of the Recorder of said County described as follows: BIB] 37946-U01 ORD-U02 536-U02 LI2-U03 FO31549-U03 FO31555-U03 DO31587-U03 C5-U03 ORDINANCES-U03 11/20/2003-U04 ROBIN-U04 ORD 536ÜÂh£Ÿjì¿N¼IORDINANCE NO. Page 2- Beginning at the intersection of the most westerly boundary of the City of Baldwin Park as it existed on April 1, 1968) with the most southerly boundary of the City of Irwindale, as it existed on April 1, 1968); thence southwesterly along said most south- erly boundary to the easterly boundary of the City of El Monte as it existed on April 1, 1968); thence southerly along said easterly boundary to its intersection with the boundary of the City of Industry as it existed on April 1, 1968); thence south- westerly along said boundary of the City of Industry and following the same in all its various courses to its intersection with the northeasterly line of that certain parcel of land described as Parcel 2-5 Rivergrade Road also known as Perez Place) in Final Order of Condemnation a certified copy of which is recorded in Book 49770, page 308 of Official Records, in the office of said recorder; thence North 58° 18' 23" West along said northeasterly line and its northwesterly prolongation a distance of 20.91 feet; thence North 18° 39' 39" East 195.76 feet; thence North 22° 20 15" East 200.20 feet; thence North 20° 03 19" East 200.72 feet; thence North 21° 09 09" East 303.51 feet; thence North 22° 56 06" East 306.52 feet; thence North 16° 54 38" East 521.63 feet; thence South 82° 08 15" West 19.02 feet; thence North 19° 46' 02" East 564.36 feet to the northerly line of that certain 500 foot strip of land described in Parcel 156 Walnut Creek Wash) of Final Order of Condemnation a certified copy of which is recorded in Book 49382 page 133 of said Official Records; thence North 82° 08' 16" East along said northerly line a distance of 45 feet to the most south- westerly comer of said Tract No. 19500; thence northeasterly along the northwesterly line of Lot 24 of said Tract No. 19500 to the southwesterly line of Syracuse Avenue as shown on map of said Tract No. 19500; thence northwesterly, northerly and north- easterly along the southwesterly, westerly and northwesterly lines of said Syracuse Avenue to the intersection with the north- westerly line of Ledford Street as shown on map of said Tract No. 19500; thence northeasterly and easterly along the north- westerly and northerly lines of said Ledford Street to the southwesterly corner of Lot 8 of said Tract No. 19500; thence northerly along the westerly line of said Lot 8 to the northerly line of said Lot 8; thence easterly along the northerly lines of Lot 8 and Lot 7 of said Tract No. 19500 BIB] 37946-U01 ORD-U02 536-U02 LI2-U03 FO31549-U03 FO31555-U03 DO31587-U03 C5-U03 ORDINANCES-U03 11/20/2003-U04 ROBIN-U04 ORD 536ÜÂh£Ÿjì¿N¼IORDINANCE NO. 556 Page 3- to the northeasterly corner of said Lot 7; thence North 10° 03' 58" West along the westerly line of Matlock Avenue, 60 feet wide, as shown on map of said Tract No. 19500 a distance of 23.16 feet to the southwesterly prolongation of the straight line portion of the northwesterly line of Dalewood Street formerly Frontage Road, 46 feet wide) as shown on map of Tract No. 22790 as per map filed in Book 656, pages 3 and 4 of said Maps; thence North 39° 25' 51" East along said last mentioned prolongation, northwesterly line and its northeasterly prolongation to a line parallel with and 45 feet northerly, measured at right angles, from the northerly line of Lot 1 of said Tract No. 22790; thence North 79° 56' 02" East along said parallel line to the south- westerly line of that certain parcel of land described in deed to State of California recorded in Book 20645, page 242 of said Official Records; thence easterly in a direct line to the most westerly comer of Annexation No. 6" to the City of Baldwin Park; thence easterly, northwesterly, westerly and northerly along said boundary of the City of Baldwin Park to the point of beginning. SECTION 4. That upon the taking effect of this Ordinance, the City Clerk shall forthwith certify, under the seal of said City of Baldwin Park, and transmit to the Secretary of State of the State of California, a copy of this Ordinance giving the date of its passage. SECTION 5. That this Ordinance shall take effect thirty 30) days after the date of its adoption, and with- in fifteen 15) days after its adoption it shall be pub- lished in the manner prescribed by law.
