AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK DECLARING
A MORATORIUM, FOR THE PURPOSE OF
STUDY, ON THE RELOCATION OF ANY AND
ALL BUILDINGS AND STRUCTURES ON
PROPERTIES WITHIN THE CITY URGENCY
ORDINANCE).
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK DOES
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the City Council of the City of
Baldwin Park does hereby find, determine and declare,
as follows:
a) That the Planning Commission has
reviewed the current situation within this
City with respect to the relocation of
buildings and structures on real property
within this City from sites outside the
boundaries thereof; and
b) That such relocations are now
permitted pursuant to certain provisions of
the Baldwin Park Municipal Code; and that
the Planning Staff and the Planning Commis-
sion^ preliminary study indicate that in
many cases buildings and structures are
relocated within the City and are not in
compliance with applicable laws, including
but not limited to, the City's building
and zoning regulations; and
c) That said preliminary study has
also indicated that many of the residential
structures so relocated are of advanced age
and may well constitute public nuisances by
reason thereof; and
d) That in order to fully review the
entire situation, it is necessary in order
to preserve the public peace, health, safety
and general welfare, to adopt this ordinance
as an urgency ordinance to prohibit the
relocation within the City of any building
or structure from any other location within
or without said City.
SECTION 2. That notwithstanding any provision of the
Baldwin Park Municipal Code Co the contrary, during such
time as this ordinance is in full force and effect:
a) No person shall move, locate or
relocate any existing building or structure
from any location to any lot within the City
of Baldwin Park; and

b) No permit shall be issued permitting
or allowing such relocation by any person.
SECTION 3, That this ordinance is hereby declared to
be an urgency ordinance and shall take effect immediately
upon its adoption, A statement of facts constituting the
basis for such urgency is as above set forth. Ttfat this
ordinance shall be, and remain in effect for a period of
180 days, from and after the date of adoption hereof,
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify the adoption
hereof and cause this ordinance to be published in the
manner prescribed by law*
