AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK ADOPTING AN
URGENCY MEASURE RELATING TO THE
ZONING REGULATIONS APPLICABLE TO M-l
ZONED PROPERTIES WITHIN THE CITY.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK DOES
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. This Ordinance is adopted with respect to
the following facts:
a) That problems have arisen concerning
certain uses in M-l zoned properties not now
permitted pursuant to applicable provisions of
the Baldwin Park Municipal Code; and
b) That formerly, the M-l zoning regu-
lations allowed certain commercial uses
including, but not limited to, the retail
sale of used furniture, furnishings and
appliances; and
c) That the City Council has considered
the problem, as presented by several citizens
and business people within the City; and
d) That it appears preliminarily that
the public interest, convenience and necessity
require, subject to a full and complete study
by the Planning Commission and Planning staff
of the City, certain commercial uses be
permitted in Zone M-l, specifically the retail
sale of used furniture, furnishings and
appliances; and
e) That it is necessary to enact this
Ordinance as an urgency measure to take effect
immediately to allow the proper development
with respect to the use hereinafter referred
to; and
f) That the public interest, convenience
and necessity require the immediate adoption of
this Ordinance.
SECTION 2. That Subsection 16a is hereby added to
Section 9630 of the Baldwin Park Municipal Code, to read
as follows:
16a. Furniture, the retail sale of
furniture, furnishings and
appliances, providing the same
is conducted in a completely
enclosed building."
SECTION 3. That this Ordinance is hereby declared to
be an urgency ordinance and shall take effect immediately
upon its adoption pursuant to the provisions of the Property
and Zoning Law of the State of California. The Statement of

Facts constituting its urgency is as set forth above.
SECTION 4. That the City Clerk shall certify the
adoption of this Ordinance and shall caiise the same to be
published in the manner prescribed by law.
