ORDINANCE NO. 647
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF BALEWIN PARK ESTABLISHING A SPECIAL ARCHI-
TECTURAL ZONE CASE NO. 1; LOCATION: DOWN-
TOWN BALDWIN PARK) SP-25)
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK DOES ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS;
SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Baldwin Park
does hereby find, determine and declare, as follows:
a) That pursuant to Section 9465.4 subparagraph a),
of the Baldwin Park Municipal Code, the Planning Commission
has considered the creation of a special architectural zone
relating to the properties hereinafter described; and
b) That the properties proposed for inclusion within a
special architectural zone are shown on the attached map
marked Exhibit L" and dated June 16, 1972.
c) That based upon the Planning Commission's
recommendation and the city council having conducted its
own duly noticed public hearing with respect to such
proposed architectural zone, it is determined that the
public interest, convenience and necessity require the
creation of a special architectural zone, to be designated
as Architectural Zone N"o. 1" which shall relate to the
properties above described.
SECTION 2. CREATION OF SPECIAL ARCHITECTURAL ZONE.
There is hereby created a special architectural zone, to
be known as Architectural Zone No. 1 which shall encompass all
of the properties shown in Exhibit L".
SECTION 3- ASSIGNMENT OF ARCHITECTURAL MOTIF> The
architectural motif assigned to Architectural Zone No. 1 is
Spanish Mediterranean. All buildings and structures hereinafter
constructed, or reconstructed, on any of the properties included

within said Architectural Zone No. 1, shall be constructed
or reconstructed, as the case may be, in substantial accord-
ance with the architectural theme as is depicted upon:
a) Those certain photos marked Exhibit A"
through H")
b) Written description marked Exhibit M")
which is designated, Architectural Motif
Architectural District No. I", dated
July 20, 1972, on file in the office of
the Director of Planning for the City
of Baldwin Park-
c) Color charts labeled Exhibits l","j" and

SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this Ordinance and cause the same to be published in the manner
prescribed by law.
