AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF BALDWIN PARK APPROVING THE
ANNEXATION TO SAID CITY OF THAT CERTAIN
CONTIGUOUS UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESIGNATED
AS ANNEXATION NO. 22".
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK DOES ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the City Council of the City of Baldwin Park did
adopt Resolution No. 74-6, entitled A Resolution of the City Council
of the City of Baldwin Park Declaring that Proceedings have been
Initiated by the City Council of the City of Baldwin Park. to Annex to
said City. Certain Uninhabited Territory Described herein and Designated
as Annexation No. 22'", which Resolution recited that the proceedings
for the annexation of the territory hereinafter described were initiated
on said Council's own motion, stated the reasons, specifically described
the boundaries of the territory sought to be annexed to said Cfty and
fixed February 20, 1974. at the hour of 7:30 p.m., 1n the Council
Chambers of the City Hall of said City, as the day, hour and place when
and where said City Council would hear protests made by any person owning
real property within such territory so proposed to be annexed to the
City of Baldwin Park.
SECTION 2. That at said time and place of hearing, said City
Council found and determined that the publication of aforesaid Resolution
had been made at the times and in the manner required by applicable
sections of the Government Code of the State of California, and that
written notice of such proposed annexation had been malted to each person
entitled to notice under the provisions of said Government Code"; that
the territory thus proposed to be annexed was, and Is, uninhabited, and
1s contiguous to the City of Baldwin Park, and that the annexation of said
territory 1s authorized by law. there being no residents in said area
proposed for annexation.
SECTION 3. That under, pursuant to and in accordance wl^h, the
provisions of the Government Code and Constitution, the annexation to the
City of Baldwin Park of that certain uninhabited territory contiguous to
said City described hereinafter be, and the same hereby Is, ratified,
confirmed and approved. That the specific description of the boundaries
of said territory, as submitted to, and approved by, the Local Agency
Formation Commission of Los Angeles County, is as follows:
Beginning at the most southerly corner of Lot 17 of El Monte
Walnut Place as shown on map filed In Book 6, page 104 of Maps,
1n the office of the Recorder of the County of Los Angeles,
thence northwesterly and easterly along the boundary of the
City of Baldwin Park as same existed on November 16, 1973 to
the southeasterly line of said lot, thence southwesterly in
a direct line to the point of beginning.
SECTION 4. That upon the taking effect of this Ordinance, the
City Clerk shall forthwith certify, under the seal of said City of
Baldwin Park, and transmit to the Secretary of State of the State of
California, a copy of this Ordinance giving the date of its passage.
SECTION 5. That this Ordinance shall take effect thirty 30) days
after the date of Its adoption, and within fifteen 15) days after its
adoption, it shall be published in the manner prescribed by law.
PASSED AND APPROVED THIS 6th day of March 1974.
