AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF BALDWIN PARK CREATING A' N16^
CITIZENS ADVISORY COMMISSION FOR THE CITY
OF BALDWIN PARK URGENCY)
The City Council of the City of Baldwin Park does
hereby ordain as follows:
Section 1< Part C, Sections 2414-2417 inclusive,arc
hereby added to Chapter 4, Article II of the Baldwin Park
Municipal Code, to read as follows:
Part C Senior Citizens Advisory Commission
2414< Senior Citizens Advisory Commission Established.
That there being a need for a senior citizen commission
to function in the City, a Senior Citizens Advisory
Commission be, and the same hereby is, created in and
for the City of Baldwin Park.
2415. Membership. The Senior Citizens Advisory
Commission shall consist of nine 9) persons who
shall be qualified residents of the City at the time
of their appointment and at all other times during
their terms,
2416. Terms. The term of office for members of the
Senior titizens Advisory Commission shall be for a
period of one 1) year, subject to provisions of
Part A hereof.
2417. Put ies. The Senior Citizens Advisory Commission
shall perform the following duties:
a) Act in an advisory capacity to the CiLy
Council in all matters pertaining to the
needs of senior citizens.
b) Act in an advisory capacity to the City
Council with respect to the development
of programs for senior citizens includ-
ing use of employment skills, transpor-
tation needs and recreational pursuits.
c) Exercise such other powers and duties
as may be assigned by order of the City
Council.
Section 2. That this ordinance is hereby declared
to be an urgency ordinance and will take effect immediately upon
its adoption. That th^ facts constituting the urgency are as
follows: The City of Baldwin Park has substantial numbers of
senior citizens whose health, safety and welfare require the
immediate development of programs of the kind contemplated by
this ordinance.
Section 3. That the City Clerk shall certify to Lhe
adoption of this ordinance and shall cause the same to be
