AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUI|CIL OF
THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK CREATTOU A
JOB OPPORTUNITIES ADVISORY COMMISSION
FOR THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK DOES
HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLLOWS:
Section 1. Part E, Sections 2440-2443 inclusive, are
hereby added to Chapter 4, Article II of the Baldwin Park
Municipal Code/ to read as follows:
Part E Job Opportunities Advisory Commission
2440. Job Opportunities Advisory Commission Established
That there being a need for a job opportunities com-
mission to function in the City, a Job Opportunities
Advisory Commission be, and the same hereby is, created
in and for the City of Baldwin Park,
2441. Membership. The Job Opportunities Advisory
Commission shall consist of nine 9) persons of
whom shall be qualified businessmen or residents
of the City at the time of their appointment and
at all other times during their terms.
2442. Terms. The term of office for members of the
Job Opportunities Advisory Commission shall be for
a period of one 1) year, subject to provision of
Part A hereof.
2443. Duties. The Job Opportunities Advisory
Commission shall perform the following duties:
a) Act in an advisory capacity to the City
Council in all matters pertaining to
job opportunities-
b) Act in an advisory capacity to the City
Council with respect to the development
of employment programs for the unemployed,
underemployed and those seeking to upgrade
their knowledge, skills and abilities.
c) Exercise such other powers and duties as
may be assigned by order of the City
Council.
Section 2. That the City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this ordinance and shall cause the same to be
published in the manner prescribed by law.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 24th day of May 1976.
