ORDINANCE NO. 789
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF BALDWIN PARK AMENDING ARTICLE II,
CHAPTER 4, PART C, SECTIONS 2435 THROUGH
2438 OF THE BALDWIN PARK MUNICIPAL CODE
RELATING TO COMMISSIONS
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK DOES
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That Sections 2435, 2436, 2437 and 2438
of the Baldwin Park Municipal Code are hereby amended to read
as follows:
2435. YOUTH ACTIVITY ADVISORY COMMISSION ESTABLISHED
That there being a need for a youth commission to function in
the City, a Youth Activity Advisory Commission be, and the
same hereby is, created in and for the City of Baldwin Park.
2436. MEMBERSHIP. The Youth Activity Advisory
Commission shall consist of nine 9) persons who shall be
qualified residents, or engaged in a business or profession
in the City at the time of their appointment and at all other
times during their terms, and who shall be appointed as follows:
1) Three 3) youth members, holding Youth Activity
Advisory Commission Offices 1, 2 and 3, shall be appointed
from each of the Baldwin Park Unified School District High
Schools Baldwin Park High School, North Park High School and
Sierra Vista High School). No person shall be appointed to
Offices 1, 2 and 3 unless the Principal of his high school
has certified to his eligibil-ity for such appointment, which
certification shall only be made after an appropriate selection
process has been observed, involving as a part thereof, the
wishes of the student body of each high school as to appropriate
candidates.
2) Two 2) youth members, holding Youth Activity
Advisory Commission Offices 4 and 5, shall be appointed from
the community at large.
3) Four 4) adult members, holding Youth Activity
Advisory Commission Offices 6, 7, 8 and 9, shall be appointed
from public and private education and public agencies.
2437. TERMS. The term of office for members of the
Youth Activity Advisory Commission shall be, as to Offices 1
through 9, inclusive, for a period of one 1) year, subject to
the provisions of Part A hereof.
2438. DUTIES, The Youth Activity Advisory Commis-
sion shall perform the following duties:
a) Act in an advisory capacity to the City
Council in all matters-^pertaining to
youth and their needs.
b) Exercise such other powers and duties
as may be assigned by order of the City
Council."

SECTION 2. That the City Clerk shall certify to
the adoption of this Ordinance and shall cause the same to
be published in the manner prescribed by law.

I, THELMA L. BALKUS, City Clerk of the City of
Baldwin Park, do hereby certify that the foregoing Ordinance
No. 789 was regularly introduced and placed upon its first
reading at a regular meeting of the City Council on the 20th
day of December, 1978. That, thereafter, said Ordinance was
duly approved and adopted at a regular meeting of the City
Council on the 3rd day of January, 1979, by the following vote
