AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK AMENDING
THE BALDWIN PARK MUNICIPAL CODE
RELATING TO BUSINESS LICENSE TAXES
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK DOES ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That Section 403? is hereby added to the Baldwin Park
Municipal Code to read as follows:
4032. SUSPENSION OF A PORTION OF CERTAIN BUSINESS
LICENSE TAXES. That notwithstanding the provisions of
subsection x) of Section 4030 of this Code, during the
period January 1, 1979 through and including December 31,
1979, the business license tax to be collected pursuant
to that said subdivision, from persons engaged in the
business of rental of commercial or manufacturing
buildings, shall not exceed the following:
RENTAL OF COMMERCIAL OR MANUFACTURING BUILDING.
Every person who owns any one or more Commercial
or Manufacturing zoned lot in the City, who rents
or leases, or offers for rent or lease, any
building or portion thereof, located on such lot,
for a commercial or industrial use, is engaged
in business, and shall pay an annual business
license fee of $50.00 and 01 per sq. ft. for
each sq. ft. in such building or buildings over
5,000 sq. ft., not to exceed, as to any licensee,
the sum of $300.00.'
That during such time as this section of the Baldwin
Park Municipal Code is in effect, the amount of the
business license tax imposed by said subsection x),
over the amount above set forth, shall be suspended,
and shall not be collected."
SECTION 2. That if the provisions of Section 4032 of the Baldwin
Park Municipal Code, as adopted by this Ordinance, are judicially declared
invalid, the full amount of the business license tax as imposed by
subsection x) of Section 4030 of this Code shall be deemed, for all purposes
to have been in full force and effect at all times from and after June 27,
1978.
SECTION 3. That this Ordinance shall take effect immediately
upon its adoption pursuant to Section 36937(d) of the Government Code,
since the taxes levied hereby are for the usual and current expense of the
City.
SECTION 4. That the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this Ordinance and shall cause the same to be published in the manner pre-
scribed by law.

hereby certify that the foregoing Ordinance No. 790 was regularly introduced
and placed upon its first reading at a regular meeting of the City Council
on the 21st day of February, 1979. That, thereafter, said Ordinance was
duly approved and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council on the
7th day of March, 1979, by the following vote:
