AN ORDINANCE: OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF BALDWIN PARK DECLARING A MORATORIUM
ON RELOCATION OF BUILDINGS AND SUSPENDING
THE MOVE-INS OF SECTIONS 7701 FT SEC OF THE
BALDWIN PARK MUNICIPAL CODE URGENCY)
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK DOES ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the City Council of the City of Baldwin Park does
hereby find, determine, and declare as follows:
a) That the present provisions of the Baldwin Park Municipal
Code do not adequately control and regulate the relocation of Buildings
within the City; and
b) That permits for moving relocated buildings have been issued,
but the work of rendering such buildings in conformity with building
regulations is not timely completed;
c) That many such relocated buildings have become Public
Nuisances to the detriment of the City; and
d) That pending receipt of staff recommendations of Code
Amendments to eliminate the above describe problems, it is necessary to
prohibit the issuance of permits for the relocation of buildings within the
City;
e) That the public interest, convenience and necessity require
the suspension of the provisions of the Baldwin Park Municipal Code allowing
relocation of buildings, pending the staff study above referred to, and
Council action therein,
SECTION 2, That during such time as this Ordinance is in effect,
the provisions of Sections 7701 through and including Section 7707 of the
Baldwin Park Municipal Code, shall be suspended, and no permit shall be
issued so as to allow the relocation of any building, as defined in
Section 7700 a) of the Baldwin Park Municipal Code.
SECTION 3. That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an Urgency
Ordinance and shall take effect immediately upon its adoption. A statement
of facts constituting its Urgency is as above set forth.
SECTION 4. That the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
hereof, and cause the same to be published in the manner prescribed by
law.
