AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF BALDWIN PARK AMENDING CERTAIN
SECTIONS OF THE BALDWIN PARK MUNICIPAL
CODE RELATING TO THE ADOPTION OF
NEW UNIFORM CODES
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK DOES HEREBY
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Sections 15.04.010, 15.04.250, 15.08.010,
15.12.010, 15.16.010, and 15.20.010 are hereby amended to read
in their entirety as follows:
15.04.010. ADOPTION OF THE UNIFORM BUILDING CODE, 1991
EDITION. Subject to certain changes, deletions and amendments
as hereinafter set forth, the Uniform Building Code, 1991
Edition" hereafter Code") copyrighted and adopted by the
international Conference of Building Officials; which Code
consists of a published compilation of rules and standards
pertaining to the construction, alteration, repair, moving,
demolition, conversion and maintenance of all buildings and
structures, is hereby adopted as the building regulations for
the City. The Uniform Building code is made a part hereof as if
set forth in full in this chapter.
15.04.250. VARIANCE FOR REGULATIONS. Notwithstanding the
provisions of. Sections 15.04.020 through 15.04.130 of this Code,
which have the effect of adopting the Uniform Building Code,
1991 Edition by reference with certain amendments thereto, as
the building regulations of the City, variances from the
provisions thereof may be granted in the manner hereinafter
prescribed, where practical difficulties, unnecessary hardships
or results inconsistent with the intent and purpose of the
building regulations occur by reason of the strict and literal
interpretation and application of any of the provisions to a
proposed or existing building or structure.
15.08.010. ADOPTION OF THE UNIFORM FIRE CODE, 1991
EDITION. Subject to certain changes, deletions and amendments
as hereinafter set forth, the Uniform Fire Code, 1991 Edition"
hereafter Code"), which Code consists of a published
compilation of rules and standards pertaining to the regulation
of fire hazards within the City, is hereby adopted as the fire
regulations for the City. The Uniform Fire Code is made a part
thereof as if set forth in full in this chapter.
15.12.010. ADOPTION OF 1990 NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE. The
1990 National Electrical Code", which Code consists of a
published compilation of. rules, regulations and standards
pertaining to the installation, construction, repair, conversion
and maintenance of all electrical equipment and fixtures within
the City, is hereby adopted as the electrical regulations of
the City. The National Electrical Code is made a part hereof as
if set forth in full in this chapter.
15.16.010. ADOPTION OF THE UNIFORM MECHANICAL CODE. 1991
EDITION. Subject to certain changes, deletions and amendments
as hereinafter set forth, the Uniform Mechanical Code, 1991
Edition, Volume II, Uniform Building Code" copyrighted and
adopted by the International Conference of Building Officials),
which Code consists of published compilation of rules and
standards pertaining to the construction, alteration, repair and
maintenance of all mechanical equipment in the City, is hereby
adopted as the mechanical regulations of the City. The Uniform
Mechanical Code is made a part hereof as if set forth in full in
this chapter.
15.20.010. ADOPTION OF THE UNIFORM PLUMBING CODE, 1991
EDITION. Subject to certain changes, deletions and amendments

as hereinafter set forth, the Uniform Plumbing Code, 1991
Edition" hereafter Code"), which Code consists of a published
compilation of rules and standards pertaining to the regulation
of plumbing within the City, is hereby adopted as the plumbing
regulations for the City. The Uniform Plumbing Code is made a
part hereof as if set forth in full in this chapter.
15.40.010. ADOPTION OF THE UNIFORM SWIMMING POOL CODE
1988 EDITION. Subject to certain changes, deletions and
amendments as hereinafter set forth, the Uniform Swimming Pool
Code, 1988 Edition" hereafter the Code"), which Code consists
of a published compilation of rules and standards for the
construction and repair of swimming pools, is hereby adopted as
the swimming pool regulations for the City. The Uniform
Swimming Pool Code is made a part of this chapter as if set
forth in full in this chapter. Notwithstanding the adoption of
the Code, Section 1.8 thereof is hereby deleted. Permit fees
with reference to the Code shall be required in the time and
manner as set forth in the Uniform Building Code adopted
pursuant to Chapter 15.04.
Section 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of
this Ordinance and cause the same to be published as required by
law, and the same shall take effect thirty 30) days after the
date of its adoption by the City Council of the City of Baldwin
Park.
PASSED,. APPROVED and ADOPTED by the City Council of the
City of Baldwin Park at a regular meeting held on the 7th day
of August 1991.

do hereby certify that the foregoing Ordinance No. 1051 was
regularly introduced and placed upon its first reading at a
regular meeting of the City Council on the 3rd day of July
1991. That thereafter, said Ordinance was duly approved and
adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council on the 7th day
of August 1991, by the following vote:
