AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF BALDWIN PARK ADDING CHAPTERS
8.24.230 AND 8.24.240 OF TITLE 8 OF THE
BALDWIN PARK MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO
FEES FOR REFUSE COLLECTION AND CURBSIDE
RECYCLING SERVICES
WHEREAS, the collection and disposal of refuse is a matter
requiring control and regulation by the city, in order to protect the
public peace, health, safety and general welfare; and
WHEREAS, in order to protect the public peace, health, safety
and general welfare the city has entered into a franchise agreement for
the provision of refuse collection and disposal services; and
WHEREAS, said agreement provides for annual adjustments in the
fees charged for refuse collection and disposal services.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Baldwin Park
does hereby ordain as follows:
Section 1. Chapter 8.24.230 of the Baldwin Park Municipal Code
is hereby added to read in its entirety as follows:
8.24.230 Fees for Refuse Collection and Disposal. Franchisee
is hereby authorized to charge the following fees for refuse
collection and disposal effective July 1, 1993.
Residential Fees
One Family Service $ 11.80 / month
Additional Services On-Premises $ 26.55 / month
More Frequent Curbside Service $ 26.55 per refuse week
More Frequent On-Premises $ 37.17 per refuse week
Senior Citizen Discount Rate $ 7.82 / month
Multiple Unit Complex curbside $ 11.80 / month for the
first unit, plus
$ 8.42 each additional
unit

delivery and pickup.
** Bins requiring more than 25 feet of movement will be charged an
individually negotiated rate depending upon requirements.
8.24.240 Curbside Recycling Program and City Integrated
Waste Management Fees. The fees for refuse collection and
disposal contained in this chapter are acknowledged to
include fees for residential curbside recycling at a rate of
93 cents per month per residential customer and fees for
city costs related to integrated waste management at the
rate of 25 cents per month per curbside residential customer
and at the rate of 1.5 percent of total collection services
for commercial bin service customers including multi-family
customers with bin service).
Section 2. Severability. The City Council of the City of
Baldwin Park hereby declares that, should any section, paragraph,
sentence or word of the Ordinance of the Code, hereby adopted, be
declared for any reason to be invalid, it is the intent of the Council
that it would have passed all other remaining portions of this Ordinance
independent of the offending section, paragraph, sentence or word.
Section 3. The City Clerk of the City of Baldwin Park shall
certify to the passage and adoption of this Ordinance and shall cause
the same to be posted and published in the manner required by law.
