AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF BALDWIN PARK AMENDING CERTAIN SECTIONS
OF THE BALDWIN PARK MUNICIPAL CODE
RELATING TO THE ADOPTION OF NEW UNIFORM
CODES
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Sections 150.001, 150.006, 150.040, 150.050, 150.060 and 150.070 are hereby
amended to read in their entirety as follows:
150.001. ADOPTION OF THE UNIFORM BUILDING CODE. 1994 EDITION. Subject to certain
changes, deletions and amendments as hereinafter set forth the Uniform Building Code, 1994 Edition"
hereafter Code") copyrighted and adopted by the International Conference of Building Officials, which
Code consists of a published compilation of rules and standards pertaining to the construction, alteration,
repair, moving, demolition, conversion and maintenance of all buildings and structures, is hereby adopted
as the building regulations for the City. The Uniform Building Code in its entirety is made a pant hereof
as if set forth in full in this chapter.
150.006. VARIANCE FOR REGULATIONS. Notwithstanding the provisions of Sections 150.002
through 150.004 of this Code, which have the effect of adopting the Uniform Building Code, 1994 Edition,
by reference with certain amendments thereto, as the building regulations of the City, variances from the
provisions thereof may be granted in the manner hereinafter prescribed, where practical difficulties,
unnecessary hardships or results inconsistent with the intent and purpose of the interpretation and
application of any of the provisions to a proposed or existing building or structure.
150.040. ADOPTION OF THE UNIFORM FIRE CODE. 1994 EDITION. The Uniform Fire Code,
1994 Edition" hereafter Code"), which Code consists of a published compilation of rules and standards
pertaining to the regulation of fire hazards within the City, is hereby adopted as the fire regulations for the
City. The Uniform Fire Code in its entirety is made a part thereof as if set forth in full in this chapter.
150.050. ADOPTION OF THE NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE. 1993. EDITION. The 1993
National Electrical Code", which Code consists of a published compilation of rules, regulations and
standards pertaining to the installation, construction, repair, conversion and maintenance of all electrical
equipment and fixtures within the City, is hereby adopted as the electrical regulations of the City. The
National Electrical Code in its entirety is made a part hereof as if set forth in full in this chapter.
150.055. ADOPTION OF THE UNIFORM HOUSING CODE, 1994 EDITION. The Uniform
Housing Code, 1994 Edition" hereafter Code"), which Code consists of a published compilation of rules
and standards pertaining to housing in the City. The Uniform Housing Code in its entirety is made a part
hereof as if set forth in full in this chapter.
150.060. ADOPTION OF THE UNIFORM MECHANICAL CODE. 1994 EDITION. The Uniform
Mechanical Code, 1994 Edition, Volume II, Uniform Building Code" copyrighted and adopted by the
International Conference of Building Officials), which Code consists of published compilation of rules and
standards pertaining to the construction, alteration, repair and maintenance of all mechanical equipment
in the City, is hereby adopted as the mechanical regulations of the City. The Uniform Mechanical Code
in its entirety is made a part hereof as if set forth in full in this chapter.

150.070. ADOPTION OF THE UNIFORM PLUMBING CODE. 1994 EDITION. The Uniform
Plumbing Code, 1994 Edition" hereafter Code"), which Code consists of a published compilation of rules
and standards pertaining to the regulation of plumbing within the City, is hereby adopted as the plumbing
regulations for the City. The Uniform Plumbing Code in its entirety is made a part hereof as if set forth
in full in this chapter.
151.01,151.02. ADOPTION OF THE UNIFORM SWIMMING POOL CODE. 1994 EDITION. The
Uniform Swimming Pool Code, 1994, Edition" hereinafter the Code"), which Code consists of a published
compilation of rules and standards for the construction and repair of swimming pools, is hereby adopted
as the swimming pool regulations of the City. The Uniform Swimming Pool Code in its entirety is made
a part of this chapter as if set forth in full in the chapter.
Section 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this Ordinance and cause the same to
be published as required by law, and the same shall take effect thirty 30) days after the date of its
adoption by the City Council of the City of Baldwin Park.
