Home My WebLink AboutORD 1118ORD 1118pT3(Ìì¨5 ORDINANCE NO. 1118 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK AMENDING CHAPTER 50.19 OF TITLE V OF THE BALDWIN PARK MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO FEES FOR REFUSE COLLECTION AND CURBSIDE RECYCLING SERVICES WHEREAS, the collection and disposal of refuse is a matter requiring control and regulation by the city in order to protect the public peace, health, safety and general welfare; and WHEREAS, in order to protect the public peace, health, safety and general welfare, the city has entered into a franchise agreement for the provision of refuse collection and disposal services; and WHEREAS, said agreement provides for annual adjustments in fees charged for refuse collection and disposal services. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Baldwin Park does hereby ordain as follows: Section 1. Chapter 50.19 of the Baldwin Park Municipal Code is hereby amended to read in its entirety as follows: 50.19 Fees for Refuse Collection and Disposal. Franchise is hereby authorized to charge the following fees for refuse collection and disposal effective October 2, 1996. Residential Fees One Family Service $12.76/month *Mechanized $1 2.67/month Additional Services on Premises $29.28/month More Frequent Curbside Service $29.28/per refuse week More Frequent on Premises $40.99/per refuse week Senior Citizen Discount Rate $8.43/month *Mechanized Senior Citizen $8.40/month Multiple Unit Complex Curbside $12.76/month for first unit, plus $9.29 each additional unit *$9.05 for mechanized service Rates for mechanized service will become effective upon the date of mechanized service implementation. The City Council of the City of Baldwin Park hereby declares that, should any section, paragraph, sentence or word of the Ordinance of the Code, hereby adopted, be declared for any reason to be invalid, it is the intent of the Council that it would have passed all other remaining portions of this Ordinance independent of the offending section, paragraph, sentence or word. Section 3. That the City Clerk of the City of Baldwin Park shall certify to the passage and adoption of this Ordinance and shall cause the same to be posted and published in the manner required by law.
