A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BALWIN PARK GIVING NOTICE OF PROPOSED ANNEXATION
TO CITY OF BALDWIN PARK OF THAT CERTAIN UNINEABIT-
ATED TERRITORY DESCRIBED BEREIN AND DESIGNATED
ANNEXATION NO. I", AND GIVING NOTICE OF TIMS
AND PIACE FOR HEARING OF PROTESTS THERETO.
BE IT RESOLVED BY TEE COUNCIL OF TEE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK:
1. That, pursuant to the provisions of the Annexation of Tjnirhabitated Territory
Act of 1939^" a petition signed, by owners of not less than one-fourth of the land. in
the hereinafter described territory by area and. by assessed, value as shown on the last
equalized, assessment roll of the County of Los Angeles, was filed, with the Council of
the City of Baldwin Park on March 16, 1956, requesting annexation of the hereinafter
described territory to said. City; that said. territory which said. petitioners request
be annexed, to the City of Baldwin Paris: and. which said. City and. its Council propose
to annex to the City of Baldwin Park is situate in the County of Los Angeles, State
of California, hereby designated., Annexation No. I", and described, as follows:
Beginning at the most easterly corner of the parcel of land des-
cribed in Certificate of Title No. HI 68537 recorded in the
office of the Recorder of the County of Los Angeles; thence along
the southeasterly line of said parcel of land. South 39° o61 West
581.47 feet; thence North 50° 54l West to the boundary of the City
of Baldwin Park as same existed on March 9; 1956; thence northeast-
erly along said boundary and following the same in all its various
courses to the point of beginning.
2. That the County Boundary Commission of Los Angeles County, California, did
in session duly assembled on March l4, 1956, approve the proposed annexation bound-
aries of said Annexation No. I", as above described, and as submitted to aaid
Commission by the proponents of said annexation of said territory to said City.
3. That Monday, April 16, 1956, at the hour of 8:00 o'clock P.M. on said day,
in the Council Chambers in the Charles D. Jones School Cafetorium in the City of
Baldwin Bark, County of Los Angeles, California, is hereby fixed as the time and
place when and where any person owning real property within the uninhabitated
territory above described and proposed to be annexed to the City of Baldwin Park
and having any objections to the proposed annexation may appear before the Council
of the City of Baldwin Park and show cause why such uninhabitated territory should
not be so annexed to said City of Baldwin Park. Such protest must be in writing,
may be filed at any time before the hour set for hearing objections o ohe proposed
annexation, and shall state the name or names of the owner or owners of property
affected and the description and area of such property in general terms.
4. The City Clerk of the City of Baldwin Park is hereby authorized and
directed to cause a copy of this resolution to be published at least twice, but
not oftener than once a week. In the Baldwin Park Bulletin, a newspapex1 of general
circulation published in said City of Baldwin Park, the city to which it is pro-
posed to annex the aforesaid territory, and also in the La Puente Valley Journal,
a newspaper of general circulation published outside the City of Baldwin Park, but
in the County of Los Angeles, California, the county in which is located the
teriitory proposed to be annexed to the City of Baldwin Park.
And the said City Clerk is further authorized and directed to cause
written notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed to each person to whom
land within the territory proposed to be annexed is assessed in the last equal-
ized county assessment roll available on the date the above said proceedings were
initiated, at the addresses shown on said assessment roll or known to said Clerk,
and to any person vho has filed his name and address and tho designation of the
land-s in which he has an interest, either legal or equitable with said Clerk,
such notice to be given not less than twenty 20) days before the first pabllc
hearing on the proposed annexation;
And in tne event any land within the territory proposed to be annexed
is owned by a county, the said. City Clerk is directed to cause written notice
of such proposed annexation to be mailed to the Board of Supervisors of such
county, such notice to be given not less than twenty 20) days before the first
public hearing on the proposed annexation;

And the said. City Clerk is directed, to cause written notice to be given to
such other persons as may be legally entitled thereto, in the manner required by
lav.
ADOPTED, SIGNED AND APPROVED this 19th day of March, 1956.
