A RESOLUTION OF HE C TY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN
PARK CALLING A SPECIAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON NOVEMBER
6th, 19^6.
WHEREAS, on the 6th day of August, 19$6, the City Council
did adopt Resolution Number $3 of the City of Baldwin Park, and
WHEREAS, said Resolution Number $3, contains a proposition
to be placed upon the ballot at the next regular election to be held
on November 6th, 19?6, and
WHEREAS, said regular election would be a Special Municipal
Election^
NOW, THEETTOHE, be it DETERMINED, RESOLVED, and ORDERED
as follows:
Section A Special Municipal Election within the City of
Baldwin Park is hereby called to be held on November 6th, 19^6, for
the purpose of voting on the proposition of permitting within the
city limits certain types of amusement and skill games, and, providing
that certain licensing fees shall be paid by the Owner and Opera bor
of such amusement and skill games, all as set forth in Hesolution
Number $3^ of the City of Baldwin Park adopted on the 6th day of
August, 19?6«
Section 2» Not earlier than the 7$th nor later than the Uth
day before said special municipal election, the City Clerk shall publish
a notice of the election at least once in one or more newspapers published
and circulated in the city*
Section 3. The Notice shall be headed Notice of Election"
and shall contain a statement of the time of the election,
Section U» The City Clerk shall publish a synopsis of the
proposition at least twice before the day of election in one or more
daily or weekly newspapers published and circulated in the city. The
synopsis shall be substantially in the following form;
MEASURES TO BE TOTED ON.
Notice is hereby given that the following measure is to be
voted on at the Special Municipal Election to be held in the
City of Baldwin Park on the 6th day of November, 19?6» The
measure or proposition) if adopted, would permit Marble Games",
Pinball Machines", Fawn Games", or Lite-a-Line", or any such
machines to be operated in any place of business or in any other
place of public resort in the City of Baldwin Park* The measure
if adopted provides that the City Council shall be empowered to
establish a license fee for both the occupation of placing,
servicing, selling, and leasing of such machines and a license
fee for the keeping or maintaining of such machines at places
of business,"
