A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF BALCWIN PARK
EXPRESSING APPRECIATION TO OR. LLOYD E. DAY IS
FOR HIS SERVICES AS COUNCILMAN
WHEREAS, a vacancy existed on the City Council on March 6, 1957, and
WHEREAS, had this vacancy not been filled on that date it would have
been necessary to operate the City with a two man council, with consequent
restricted activity for a considerable time, and
WHEREAS, Dr. Lloyd E. Davis was willing to and did accept appointment
as a City Councilman in order that the Council might effectively function
until such time as a majority council was reconstituted, and
WHEREAS, Dr. Davis did, on May 14, 1957, tender his resignation at
the time the Council was reconstituted,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, DETERMINED and ORDERED, as follows;
Section I. The City Council hereby expresses to Dr. Davis its regret
as to his decision to resign.
Section 2> The City Council further expresses its appreciation to
Dr. Davis for his services and sacrifice in his performance as a Councilman
which has permitted the City to so effectively function,
Section 5. That the City Clerk be directed to furnish to Dr. Davis
a certified copy of this Resolution, properly signed and attested.
ADOPTED, SIGNED AND APPROVED this 0th day of May 1957.
