A RESOEJTIOBT CF THE CITY COUNCIL CF THE CITT OF
BAIIMCN PARK RELATIVE TO APPLICATION TO STATE
LOCAL PLANNING OFFICE FOR URBAN PLANNING ASSISTANCE.
WHEREAS, the City of Baldwin Park desires to provide for
a planning study contributing to an over-all program for future com-
munity development, the preservation of coianunity values, the prevention
of conditions tending to cause urban blight, and the proniotion of the
general health, safety, and welfare of its citizens 5 and,
WHEREAS, the State epartwnt of Tinance, under authority of
Chapter 33^ Statutes 19$6, First Extraordinavy Session, may provide
planning assistance for such a prograa and receive financial assistance
from the Urban Renewal Administration, as authorized by Section 701 of
the Housing Act of 195k Public Laws, 83rd Congress) 5 now, therefore,
be it
RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Baldwin Park
hereby requests the State Department of Finance to provide planning
assistance under authority of Chapter 33» Statutes 1956, First Extra-
ordinary Session, with such financial assistance as may be provided
by the Urban Renewal Administration, under authority of Section 701
of the Housing Act of 19?U Public Laws 860, 83rd Congress). That
such planning assistance is more particularly described in a project
description that is attached hereto and made a part of this resolution
as if fully set forth herein,
THAI, the City Council of the City of Baldwin Park, subject to
approval of su^h planning assistance by the State and Federal authorities,
hereby authorizes;
a) Payment to the State apartment of Finance of a sum
not to exceed $8,000.00 and,
b) Use of personnel of the City of Baldwin Park for
technical assistance in this project, which assist-
ance has an estimated value of $8,000,00.
THAT, the total estimated cost of the City of Baldwin Park's
project as planned is $32,000.00.
THAT, the Mayor of the City of Baldwin Park be, and he hereby
is, authorized and empowered to execute in the nane of the City all nec-
essary contracts and agreements to implement and carry out the purposes
specified in this resolution.
