RESOLUTION DECLARING THE INTENTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF BALDWIN PARK TO INITIATE ON ITS OWN MOTION PRO-
CEEDINGS TO ANNEX CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY, HEREIN-
AFTER DESCRIBED AND DESIGNATED AS ANNEXATION N0.3" TO THE
CITY OF BALDWIN PARK; AND AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE
CITY ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER TO FILE SUCH PROPOSAL WITH,
AND SUBMIT SUCH PROPOSAL TO THE BOUNDARY COMMISSION OF THE
COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, FOR A REPORT
THEREON AS REQUIRED BY LAW,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK:
SECTION I> That the Council of the City of Baldwin Park, for the
reasons hereinafter mentioned, desires. Intends and proposes to Initiate on
Its own motion, as soon as It can legally do so, proceedings to annex to
the City of Baldwin Park all of the territory hereinafter described, as
uninhabited territory, under and by virtue and In accordance and In compli-
ance with the provisions of the Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act
of 1939 as set forth In Sections 55500 to 55525, Inclusive, of the Govern-
ment Code of the State of California.
SECTION 2^ That the said Council's reasons for proposing to
Initiate said annexation proceedings as aforesaid are as follows: That the
annexation of the hereinafter described territory will contribute to the
orderly growth of the city, provide the proper control of street layout,
drainage, sanitary sewer design and the proper land use In conformity with
the overall zoning plan of said city.
SECTION 3^ That said territory, which said Council proposes to
annex as aforesaid. Is hereby described and Identified as Annexation No, 5",
and said territory Includes, consists of, and Is further described as all
that real property situate In the County of Los Angeles, State of California,
described as follows:
Beg at the NE corner of E. Franclsqulto and N. Big Dalton Ave. thence
Northeasterly along the Southerly line of N. Big Dalton Ave. a dist of
695.42* more or less to the present boundary line of the City of Baldwin
Park. Thence following along said City boundary line Southerly and Easterly
to a point where said line Intersects the center line of Puente Avenue
being a street SO* In width. Thence continuing along the present City
boundary line Southerly and Easterly to a point where the Northwesterly
line of Tract No. 21521, If extended Easterly, would Intersect the City
Boundary line. Thence along the said Northwesterly boundary line At
Tract No. 21521 to where the same Intersects the Northeasterly line of East
Franclsqulto Avenue, being a street 60' In width. Thence Northwesterly along
the Northeasterly line of E, Franclsqulto to the Northeasterly corner of
E. Franclsqulto and N. Big Dalton Ave., which Is the point of beginning.
SECTION 4.. That the City Administrative Officer of the City of
Baldwin Park Is hereby authorized and directed to file with, and submit to
the Boundary Commission of the County of Los Angeles, State of California,
on behalf of the Council of the City of Baldwin Park, and In accordance
with, and for a report thereon toy said Commission In accordance with the
provisions of Section 55002 of the Government Code of the State of California,
the said proposal of the Council of the City of Baldwin Park to Initiate on
Its own motion said proceedings to annex the herelnabove described uninhabited
territory to the City of Baldwin Park.
