RESOLUTION DECLARING THAT PROCEEDINGS HAVE BEEN INITIATED
BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK TO ANNEX TO SAID
CITY CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESCRIBED HEREIN AND
DESIGNATED Annexation No. 3", AND GIVING NOTICE OF SUCH
PROPOSED ANNEXATION.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK:
1. That, pursuant to the provisions of the Annexation of Uninhabited
Territory Act of 1959," proceedings have been initiated by the Council of
the City of Baldwin Park, on its own motion, to annex to the City of
Baldwin Park all that uninhabited territory situate in the County of Los
Angeles, State of California, hereby designated as Annexation No. 3" and
described as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the northeasterly line of Francisquito
Avenue, 60 feet wide, as shown on map of El Monte Walnut Place recorded in
Book 6, page 104 of Maps, in the office of the Recorder of the County of
Los Angeles, with the southeasterly line of the strip of land 15 feet wide,
for Big Dalton Avenue, as described in Document No. 98505, filed on
June 18, 1926, under provisions of the Land Title Act, recorded in the
office of said recorder; thence northeasterly along said southeasterly line
to the southwesterly line of the strip of land 25 feet wide, for Big
Dalton Avenue, as described in deed to said county recorded in Book 5556,
page 256 of Official Records, in the office of said recorder; thence
southeasterly and northeasterly along the south westerly and southeasterly
lines of said last mentioned strip of land to the boundary of the City of
Baldwin Park as same existed on August 12, 1957; thence southeasterly along
said boundary and following the same in all its various courses and curves
to the northeasterly prolongation of the most northwesterly line of Tract
No. 21521, as shown on map recorded in Book 575, pages 15 and 16 of said
maps; thence southwesterly in a direct line to the most westerly corner of
said Tract No. 21521; thence northwesterly along said northeasterly line
of Francisquito Avenue to the point of beginning,
2. That the said Council of the City of Baldwin Park desires to annex
said uninhabited territory to the City of Baldwin Park for the following
reasons; Said territory is contiguous to the City of Baldwin Park, and its
proposed annexation will contribute and facilitate the orderly growth and
development of both the City of Baldwin Park and the territory proposed to
be annexed; will facilitate and contribute to the proper and orderly layout
design and construction of streets, gutters, sidewalks, sanitary and storm
water sewers and drainage facilities, both within the City of Baldwin Park
and the territory proposed to be annexed; and will provide and facilitate
proper over-all planning and zoning of lands, and subdivision of lands in
said City and said uninhabited territory. In a manner most conducive to the
welfare of said City and said uninhabited territory; and the County Boundary
Commission of Los Angeles County, California, did in session duly assembled
on August 20, 1957, approve the proposed annexation boundaries of said
Annexation No, 3" as above described, and as submitted to said Commission
by the Council of the City of Baldwin Park prior to the initiation of said
annexation proceedings.
5. That Monday, October 7, 1957, at the hour of 8:00 p.m. of said day. In
the Council Chambers at the Old Central School Auditorium, 4006 N. Pacific
Avenue, Baldwin Park, County of Los Angeles, California, Is hereby fixed as
the time and place when and where any person owning real property within the
uninhabited territory above described and proposed to be annexed to the City
of Baldwin Park and having any objections to the proposed annexation may

appear before the Council of the City of Baldwin Park and show cause why
such uninhabited territory should not be so annexed to said City of Baldwin
Park. Such protest must be in writing, may be filed at any time before the
hour set for hearing objections to the proposed annexation, and shall state
the name or names of the owner or owners of property affected and the descrip-
tion and area of such property in general terms.
4. TheEClty Clerk of the City of Baldwin Park is hereby authorized and
directed to cause a copy of this resolution to be published at least twice,
but not oftener than once a week. In the Baldwin Park Bulletin, a newspaper
of general circulation published Sn said City of Baldwin Park, the city to
which It is proposed to annex the aforesaid territory, and also in La Puente
Journal, a newspaper of general circulation published outside the City of
Baldwin Park, but in the County of Los Angeles, California, the county In
which is located the territory proposed to be annexed to the City of Baldwin
Park, said publication to be complete at least twenty 20) days prior to the
date set for hearing;
And the said City Clerk is further authorized and directed to cause writ-
ten notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed to each person to whom
land within the territory proposed to be annexed Is assessed in the last
equalized county assessment roll available on the date the above said pro-
ceedings were Initiated, at the addresses shown on said assessment roll or
known to said Clerk, and to any person who has filed his name and address
and the designation of the lands In which he has an Interest, either legal
or equitable, with said Clerk, such notice to be given not ess than twenty
20) days before the first public hearing on the proposed annexation;
And, in the event any land within the territory proposed to be annexed
is owned by a county, the said City Clerk is directed to cause written
notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed to the Board of Supervisors
of such county, such notice to be given not less than twenty 20) d^ys be-
fore the first public hearing on the proposed annexation;
And, in the event there is, upon the land proposed to be annexed, a struc-
tural improvement owned, being acquired or leased by a county fire protectior
district, the said Clerk is directed to cause written notice of such proposed
annexation to be mailed to the governing body of such district, such notice
to be sent not less than ten 10) days before the first public hearing upon
such proposed annexation;
And the said City Clerk is directed to cause written notice to be given
to such other persons as may be legaHy entitled thereto. In the manner
required by law.
ADOPTED THIS 26th DAY OF August, 1957, by the following votes
AYES: Councilmens BishAp, Cole, Stephens and Littlejohn
