HomeMy WebLinkAbout1957 121 CC RESO1957 121 CC RESO¼òw @|^PRESOLUTION NO. 7-121 A BESOLUTIOBI CF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY CF BALDWIN PARK CONSENTING, PURSUANT TO SECTION 3^30k.5 CF THE GOVERNMENT CODE, TO THE ANNEXATION BY AND TO THE CITY F EL MONTE OF OgaZflJN UNINHABITED TERRITORY. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of El Monte proposes to annex to the City of El Monte, pursuant to the Annexation of Uninhabited Territoxy Act of 1939'S certain territory hereinafter more fully described; and WHEKKAS, the territory hereinafter described is uninhabited as provided in Section 35303 of the Government Code, is contiguous to the City of El Monte as provided in Section 35>30U.5 of said Government Code, and is not part of any other municipal corporation; and, WHEREAS, the annexation of said territory comes within the purview of Section 3530k of said Government Code requiring the consent of the legislative body of each city situated within three miles of the territory being annesced; and, HHEREAS, at least a portion of the territory hereinafter described and proposed to be annexed to the City of El Monte is within three miles of the boundaries of the City of Baldwin Park, NOT, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL CF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Biat the City Council of the City of Baldwin Park, California, pursuant to the Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939'S a^ amended, and as required by Section 3^30^.5 of the Government Code, does hereby consent to the annexation to the City of El Monte the territory bounded and described as follows; All that property in the County of Los Angeles, State of California, bounded and described as follows: Beginning at a point on the southeasterly boundary of the City of El Monte, as same existed on August 16, 19^7.» said point being the most southerly comer of Lot k in Block A" of Tract No. 10882, as per map recorded in Book 188 Pages k9 and $0 of Maps, in the office of the County Recorder of said County; thence southwesterly along the southwesterly prolongation of the southeasterly line of said Lot h to the southwesterly line of Valley Boulevard, 100 feet wide, being the southwesterly line of the northeasterly 17 feet of Lot h of Tract No. 3^80, as per map recorded in Book UO Page 5to of Maps, in the Office of said Recorder; thence southeasterly along the southwester- ly line of the northeasterly 17 feet of Lots h and 3 of said Tract No, 3h60 to the most northerly corner of Lot 1 of Tract No. 13187, as per map recorded in Book 26$, Page 2h of Maps, in the Office of said Recorder; thence southeasterly along the southwesterly line of Valley Boulevard as shown on Map of said Tract No* 13187 to the most easterly corner of Lot 21 of said Tract No. 13187; thence southeasterly along the southwesterly line of the northeasterly 17 feet of Lot 1 of said Tract No* 3hQO to the northwesterly line of Mountain View Road, $0 feet wide, as shown on Map of said Tract No. 31^80; thence south- easterly along the southeasterly prolongation of said last mentioned southwesterly line to the northeasterly line of Garvey Avenue, 100 feet wide, as described in Deed from Mabel J. McMillen and J. H. McMillen to the State of California, recorded in Book 11^63 Page 316, of Official Records In the office of said Recorder; thence southeasterly BIB] 38253-U01 1957-U02 121-U02 CC-U02 RESO-U02 LI3-U03 FO52524-U03 FO52735-U03 DO54123-U03 C6-U03 RESO-U03 9/22/2004-U04 ROBIN-U04 1957 121 CC RESO¼òw @|^PRESOLUTION 7-121 in a direct line to the intersection of the southerly line of Garvey Avenue as described in said deed with the southwesterly line of a strip of land 17 feet wide lying southwesterly of and adjacent to the southwesterly line of Valley Boulevard formerly Pomona Boulevard) as shown on Map of Tract No. 10$37^ recorded in Book 182 Pages 28 and 29 of Maps, in the Office of said Recorder; thence southeasterly along the southwesterly line of said last mentioned 17 foot strip of land to the northwesterly line of Tract No, 10870, as shown on Map recorded in Book 229 Page h$ of Maps, in the Office of said Recorder; thence southwesterly in a direct line to the most westerly comer of Lot 13 of said Tract No, 10870; thence southeasterly, easterly and northeasterly along the southwesterly, southerly and southeasterly lines of Lots 13, iky 1$, 16 and 17 of said Tract No, 10870 to the most easterly corner of said Lot 17; thence along the southeasterly prolongation of the northeasterly line of said Lot 17 south 58° U2» 2^ east lh.k9 feet; thence north k5° 36t k^ east 200 feet; thence northeasterly in a direct line to the most southerly comer of Lot 10 of said Tract No, 10$37; thence northeasterly along the southeasterly line of said Lot 10 and the northeasterly pro- longation thereof to the northerly line of Garvey Avenue as shown on Map of said Tract No, 10$37; thence easterly along the northerly line of Garvey Avenue, as shown on Maps of said Tract No. 10537 and Tract No. 1061^ as per map recorded in Book l82 Pages 36 and 37 of Maps, in the Office of said Recorder, to the most easterly comer of Lot 1 of said Tract No. 106U5s thence northwesterly along the north- easterly line of Lot 1 of said Tract No. 106U^ and Lots 9 and 8 of aaid Tract No. 10537, to the most northerly corner of said Lot 8; thence southwesterly in a direct line to the most southerly corner of Lot 3 of said Tract No. 10$37; thence northwesterly in a direct line to the most westerly comer of Lot 3 of said Tract No. 10$37; thence southwesterly in a direct line to the most westerly comer of Lot 6 of said Tract No. 10^37; thence westerly in a direct line to the intersection of the northwesterly line of Cogswell Road, 60 feet wide, as shown on Map of said Tract No. 10537s witb the northerly line of Garvey Avenue as described in deed to the State of California, recorded in Book 11719 Page 382 of Official Records in the Office of said Becorder; thence westerly along the northerly line of said Garvey Avenue to the intersection of the southeasterly prolongation of the southwesterly line of Lot 13 of Tract No. 9789, as per map recorded in Book l8l Pages h0 and U of Maps, in the Office of said Recorder, with the northerly line of said Garvey Avenue; thence northwesterly along said last mentioned prolonged line and the northeasterly line of Valley Boulevard formerly Pomona Boulevard) as shown on Map of said Tract No. 9789 and con- tinuing northwesterly along the northeasterly line of Valley Boulevard as shown on Map of Tract No. 10816 as per map recorded in Book l87 Pages 8 and 9 of Maps, In the office of said Recorder, to the most westerly comer of Lot 3 of said Tract No. 10816; thence northwesterly along the northeasterly line of a strip of land as des- cribed in Deeds to the State of California, recorded in Books 390la Page 1^00, 31^93 Page 2$0 287^2 Page 370 and 27669 Page 86, all of Official Records, in the Office of said Recorder, to the most southerly comer of Lot 1 in Block A" of said Tract No. 10882; thence northwesterly along the northeasterly line of Valley Boulevard as shown on Map of said Tract No. 10882 to the point of beginning. SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution and shall cause a certified copy of the same to be forwarded to the City Clerk of the City of El Monte.
