That, pursuant to the provisions of the Annexation of Uninhabited.
Territory Act of 1939 j" prooeedlagB haTe been initiated, by the Council of the
City of Baldwin Park, on ite own otlon, to annex to the City of Baldwin Park
all that uninhabited territory situate in the County of Loe Angeles, State of
California, hereby designated as Annexation lo« 4" and deecribed aa follow:
Beginning at the intecreectlon of the boundary of theCity of Baldwin
Park along Franc isquito Avenue), ae sane existed on February 11, 1958 vith
the northeasterly prolongation of the southeasterly line of Lot 178 of Tract
Xo» 20933, ae shown on ap recorded in Book 40, pagee 28 to 30 inclusive of
Mape, in the office of the recorder of the County of Loe Angeles; thence
southwesterly along said. prolongation and continuing southwesterly and south-
easterly along the boundary of said tract to the nortbweaterly line of Puente
Avenue 60 feet vide) as shown on said ap; thence northeasterly along said
northwesterly line of Puente Avenue to a line that ie parallel vith the
northeeeterly line of Lot 26 of XI Monte Walnut Place, ae shown on ap recorded.

2. That the said. Council of the City of Baldwin Park desiree to annex
said uninhabited territory to the City of Baldwin Park for the following reasons:
Said territory is contiguous to the City of Baldwin Park, and ite proposed, annexa-
tion will contribute and. facilitate the orderly growth and. development of both
the City of Baldwin Park and the territory proposed, to be annexed; will facilitate
and contribute to the proper and orderly layout design and construction of streets,
gutters, sidewalks, sanitary and stora water sewers and drainage facilitiee, both
vithin the City of Baldwin Park and the territory proposed, to be annexed; and will
provide and facilitate proper over all planning aad toning of lands, and sub-
division of lands in said City and said uninhabited territory, in a Manner oet
conducive to the welfare of said City and aaid uninhabited territory; and the
County Boundary Ccnaission of Los Angelee County, California, did in session
duly aeselbled. on February 19, 1958, approve the proposed annexation boundaries
of eaid Annexation Xo« 4" ae above described, aad as submitted to eaid Ccwaission
by the Council of the City of Baldwin Park prior to the initiation of eaid anneza-

3« That Monday, May 5, 1958, at the hour of 8:00 of aaid day, or as
soon thereafter as practicable, in the Council Chaabers at the Municipal Audi*
toriua, 006 M« Pacific Avenue, Baldwin Park, California, County of Loe Angelee,
California, is hereby fixed as the ttae and place when and where any person own-
lag real property within the uninhabited territory above described and proposed
to be annexed to the City of Baldwin Park and having any objections to the pro-
poeed annexation aay appear before the Council of the City of Baldwin park and
show cause why such uninhabited territory should not be so annexed to said City
of Baldwin Park. Such protect Bluet be in wiling, ay be filed at any tine be-
fore the hour set for hearing objections to the proposed annexation, aad shall
state the naas or nause of the owner or owners of property affected and the
deecription and area of such property In general terie.

The City Clerk of the City of Baldwin Park la hereby authorized and.
directed, to cause a copy of this resolution to be published at least twice,
but not oftener than once a week, In the Baldwin Park Bulletin, a newspaper
of general circulation published In said City of Baldwin Park, the city to
which It is proposed to annex the aforesaid territory, and also In the Lei
Puente Talley Journal, a newspaper of general circulation published, outside
the City at Baldwin Park, but In the County of Los Angeles, California, the
county in which Ie located the territory proposed to be annexed to the City
of Baldwin Park, said publication to be cooplete at least twenty 20) days
prior to the date set far hearing;
And the said City Clerk Is further authorized and directed to cause
written notice of such proposed annexation to be nailed to each person to
who» land within the territory proposed to be annexed Is assessed in the
last equalized county assessment roll available on the date the above said
proceeding were Initiated, at the addresses shown on said aaseesaent roll
or known to said Clerk, and to any person who has filed his naas and address
and the designation of the lands In which he has an Interest, either legal
or equitable, with said Clerk, such notice to be giTen not less than twenty
20) days before the first public hearing on the proposed annexation;
And, In the event any land within the territory proposed to be annexed
Is owaed by a county, the said City Clerk Is directed, to cause written notice
of such proposed, annexation to be Balled to the Board of Supervisors of such
county, such notice to be giTen not less than twenty 20) days before the
first public hearing on the proposed annexation;
And, In the event there Is, upon the land proposed to be annexed, a
structural ixproveBent owned, being acquired or leased by a county fire
protection district, the said Clerk is directed to cause written notice of
such proposed annexation to be Bailed to the governing body of such district,
such notice to be sent not less than tan 10) days before the first public
hearing upon such proposed annexation;
And the said City Clerk Is directed to cause written notice to be given
to such other persons as nay be legally entitled thereto. In the aannearw-"
