HomeMy WebLinkAbout1958 057 CC RESO1958 057 CC RESO¼òw @|_( \ t^^ r<- /^ /^^. f^.-; i^ 9^ RESOLUTION N0.^8^7 /.^^ / r/—?JL- RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK ADOPTING THE MASTER PLAN OP HIGHWAYS FOR THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK, WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Baldwin Park has held public hearings on the 3rd day of April and the 17th day of April, 1958, in regard to the adoption of a proposed Master Plan of Highways, and WHEREAS, on the 1st day of May, 1958, the Planning Com- mission of the City of Baldwin Park again considered the proposed Master Plan of Highways, and WHEREAS, Notice of the time and place of hearings before the Planning Commission of the City of Baldwin Park were publish- ed pursuant to the provisions of Section 65502 of the Government Code of the State of California, and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Baldwin Park has recommended to the City Council of the City of Baldwin Park the adoption of the proposed Master Plan of Highways for the City of Baldwin Park, and WHEREAS, the recommendation of the Planning Commission was duly certified to the City Council by Resolution No. 2?6 of the Planning Commission of the City of Baldwin Park, and WHEREAS, said Resolution was adopted by the affirmative votes of not less than two-thirds of the total voting members of the Planning Commission of the City of Baldwin Park, and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Baldwin Park did on the 19th day of May, 1958, hold a public hearing in regard to the adoption of the proposed Master Plan of Highways, which was certified by the Planning Commission of the City of Baldwin Park, and WHEREAS, the Notice 01 the time and place of the public hearing was duly given pursuant to Section 65509 oi the Government Code, and WHEREAS, the City Council has not made any change or ad- dition to the proposed Master Plan or Highways as certified to it by the Planning Commission of the City of Baldwin Park, and WHEREAS, the authority for the adoption or the proposed Master Plan of Highways for the City of Baldwin Park is contained in Sections 65500 through 65516, of the Government Code, of the State of California, NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Baldwin Park does RESOLVE, DETERMINE AND ORDER as follows: SECTION 1: The City Council determines that a Master Plan of Highways is necessary for the following reasons 1- BIB] 38253-U01 1958-U02 057-U02 CC-U02 RESO-U02 LI3-U03 FO52524-U03 FO54140-U03 DO54197-U03 C6-U03 RESO-U03 9/23/2004-U04 ROBIN-U04 1958 057 CC RESO¼òw @|_(a) To provide a system of major and secondary highways designed to serve the present and future traffic needs of the City; b) To provide a coordinated network of highways which will tie in with the County's Master Plan of Highways, and the highway plans of adjoining cities; c) To make It possible to divert through traffic from local streets which would result in greater convenience and safe ty fol* both motorist and pedestrians In residential areas; d) To provide a guide for the acquisition of right- of-way for the widening of those streets designated as major and secondary highways. SECTION 2: The City Council finds that all public hear- ings have been held and all Notices of the time and place of said public hearings have been given pursuant to and in accordance with the provisions of Sections 65500 through 65516 of the Government Code of the State of California* SECTION 3: That certain Map which is labeled Master Plan of Highways** and which Map has recorded on it the signatures of the Chairman and the Secretary of the Planning Commtsion of the City of Baldwin Park, is hereby adopted as the official Master Plan of Highways for the City of Baldwin Park, in accordance with the provisions of Part 8, Chapter 3^ Title 7^ of the Government Code of the State of California. SECTION 4: The cross sections as shown on the Map which is designated above as the official Master Plan of Highways for the City of Baldwin Park shall be used as the standard cross sections for those streets designated as major and secondary highways. SECTION 5: The following streets are designated major highways on the Master Plan ot* Highways with a minimum right- of-way width of 100 feet: Ramona Boulevard Badlllo Street southerly of Pacific Electric right-of-way) Arrow Highway Sierra Madre Avenue Baldwin Park Boulevard Puente Avenue south of Freeway SECTION 6: The following streets are designated as secondary highways on the Master Plan of Highways with a minimum right-of-way width of 80 feet: Puente Avenue from Freeway to Root Street Root Street Ramona Boulevard northerly of the P.E. right-of-way) from Sierra Madre Avenue east to the City limits.
