A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK APPOINTING
SAMUEL GORLICK PERMANENT CITY ATTOR-
NEY AND FIXING HIS COMPENSATION
The City Council of the City of Baldwin Park does
resolve as follows:
Section 1, That the appointment of Samuel Gorlick as
City Attorney of the City of Baldwin Park is hereby made permanent,
effective October 1, 1958.
Section 2. That he shall be compensated for his services
after October 1, 1958, as follows: $750.00 per month for attendance
at City Council and Planning Commission meetings and for the handling
of routine matters, such as the preparation of ordinances, resolutions,
agreements, deeds, and leases, giving legal advice to the City Council,
Commissions, officers and departments of the City, preparing legal
opinions, and passing on the validity of claims against the City;
provided, however, that he shall not be required to devote more than
70 hours per month thereto, inclusive of meetings attended, and shall
not be required to attend more than 4 Council and/or Commission meet-
ings per month. For time required to be spent at the City Hall, he
shall be paid at the rate of $50.00 per day. For extraordinary
services such as litigation, including the preparation of pleadings,
the filing of actions or proceedings, preparation for trial, appear-
ances before boards, bodies and tribunals, special assessment pro-
ceedings, etc., he shall be paid $15.00 per hour but not to exceed
$100.00 for the preparation of pleadings and $100.00 per day for such
other said services as he may be called upon to perform, except that
in special assessment proceedings he shall be paid the current rate
being paid by the City for 1911 Act Proceedings.
Section 3. That until such time as he shall leave his
position as Assistant City Attorney of the City of Burbank he shall
serve in such manner as not to conflict with his duties as such
Assistant City Attorney.

services, supplies and equipment and shall attend municipal league
conferences at his own expense, but attendance thereat shall not
be mandatory,
