HomeMy WebLinkAbout1958 129 CC RESO1958 129 CC RESOxJØ~RESOLUTION NO. 58-129 A RESOLUTION OP THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK PROVIDING FOR A PUBLIC HEARING ON THE ADOP- TION OF THE 1958 EDITION OF THE UNIFORM BUILDING CODE, VOLUMES I SECOND PRINTING), INCLUDING POR- TIONS OF APPENDIX THEREIN, AND III. WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 94 relating to the adoption by reference of-the 195» Edition of the Uniform Build- ing Code," promulgated by the International Conference of Build- in^ Officials, Pacific Coast Building Officials Conference Sub- sidiary, Volumes I second printing) and III, including Sections 2312., 4801, 4802, 4603 and Chapter 51 of the Appendix in Volume I, with certain amendments provided for in Article VIII, Chapter 1 of the Baldwin Park Municipal Code and said ordinance, has been read for the first time, including the title of said ordi- nance and the title of said Uniform Building Code, and WHEREAS, Section 50022.3 of the Government Code of the State of California requires a public hearing thereon, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Baldwin Park that a public hearing shall be held on the 17 day of November j 19^8^ at 7:30 o'clock P.M., in the Council Chamber, City Hall, l44o3 East Pacific Avenue, Baldwin Park, California, on the adoption of said ordinance and Uniform Building Code, at which time all persons desiring to protest the adoption of said ordinance and Uniform Building Code, or any portion thereof, shall be heard. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk shall cause a notice of said public hearing to be published once a week for two successive weeks in a newspaper of general publication in or nearest to the City of Baldwin Park. The City Attorney shall prepare said notice for the City Clerk in the form required by Section 50022.3 of the Government Code of the State of California, including therein a description of the purpose and subject matter of the ordinance to read substantially as follows: The purpose of the ordinance is to prescribe regulations governing the erec- tion, construction, enlargement, alteration, repair, moving, removal, conversion, demolition, occupancy, equipment, use, height, area, and maintenance of buildings and other structures and equipment, and covering the following subject matter: 1. Administrative provisions. Including permits and inspections» 2. Definitions and abbreviations. 3. Requirements based on occupancy, 4. Requirements based on location in fire zones. 5. Requirements based on types of construction, 6. Engineering regulations quality and design of the materials of construction, 7. Pire-resistive standards for fire protection. 9. Regulations for use of public streets and projections over public property. 10. Plaster and wall board. 11. Special subjects including film storage, mechanical refrigeration, prefabricated con- struction, heat-producing appliances, and plastics. 12. Appendix Provisions covering lateral bracing earthquake regulations), photographic and X-ray films, and heat-producing appliances. 13. Uniform building standards covering all types of building materials, methods, tests, and systems. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that three 3) copies of said 1958 Edition of the Uniform Building Code, Volumes I second printing), including portions of appendix therein, and III, all certified to be true copies by the City Clerk, shall be filed in the office of the City Clerk at least fifteen days preceding the date of said hearing and shall be kept there for public inspection after the ordinance adopting said Uniform Building Code is in force and effect; provided, however, that after said adoption one of the said copies may be kept in the office of the Building Inspector of the City of Baldwin Park. 1958.
