STEPHENS AND EXPRESSING THE CITY'S GRATITUDE FOR HIS DEVOTION AND SERVICE TO THE CITY, WHEREAS, Edward B. Stephens, beloved resident and citizen of Baldwin Park, has recently retired from public service after serving with distinction as an elected member of the City Council and former Member of the Planning Commis- sion; and WHEREAS, he played an Important role in the acquisi- tion of the City Hall and completion of the Big Dalton Flood Control Project; and WHEREAS, he has been a highly respected leader in community affairs, having been instrumental in organizing the Associated Farm Bureau Members of Baldwin Park and having served the youth of this community by his work in the Little League and other community recreation programs, and by his work in reinstating the 4-H Club and liaison activities with the Baldwin Park School District; and WHEREAS, he has contributed Immeasurably to the growth and development of the City during its early difficult years, and WHEREAS, the City desires to publicly recognize and express its sincere appreciation and gratitude for his out- standing citizenship and constructive contributions to the community, NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Bald- win Park does resolve that Edward B. Stephens be, and he hereby is, commended for his devotion and service to the City of Baldwin Park.
