A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF BALDWIN PARK URGING THE CALIFORNIA
PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMISSION TO HOLD RATE
HEARINGS IN THE COMMUNITIES AFFECTED.
WHEREAS^ the rates charged by public utilities
directly affect the consumers in the localities where such
utilities operate; and
WHEREAS, rate hearings are usually held in down-
town Los Angeles, where it is inconvenient for the consumer
to appear and make known his views,
NOW^ THEREFORE, it is resolved by the City Council
of the City of Baldwin Park that in future rate proceed-
ings, the California Public Utilities Commission be, and
it hereby is, urged to schedule hearings in each local com-
munity affected thereby.
RESOLVED FURTHER, that the City Clerk shall mail a
certified copy of this resolution to the California Public
Utilities Commission, State Building, San Francisco 2,
California.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 6th day of April 1959.
