A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF BALDWIN PARK AUTHORIZING A NEW
ESTIMATE OF POPULATION FOR ffiE GIT? OF
BALDWIN PARK BY THE STATE DEPARTOENT CF
FINANCE AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SIGN.
WHEREAS, the City of Baldwin Park can actually show,
as a result of a special censzis as of December, 1957^ a population
of 32,33k, and
WHEREAS, a procedure has been devised whereby the State
Department of Finance may estimate a city's population growth for
the purpose of allocating State subventions and grants, and
WHEREAS, the State Department of Finance most be able to
show a minimum of % growth since the last official census, and
WHEREAS, % of Baldwin Park's official census figure would
represent l,8l6 individuals, and
WHEREAS, the Regional Planning Commission has just releas-
ed figures estimating the City of Baldwin Park's population at
3U,26U, and
WHEREAS, this figure exceeds the 5% increase that is
required*
IT IS, ffiEREFORE, RESOLVED that:
SECTION 1. The State Department of Finance is hereby authoriz-
ed to conduct a special survey to determine a new population estimate
for the City of Baldwin Park, with the cost for said services to be
based on actual time spent in the performance of said survey,
SECTION 2. A sum not to exceed $1^00.00 is hereby allocated
for this purpose.
SECTION 3. The Mayor and appropriate City officials are
authorized to execute a contract on behalf of the City of Baldwin
Park.
