RESOLUTION NO. 59-85
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK, CALIFORNIA,
AWARDING CONTRACT FOR WORK OR
IMPROVEMENT ORDERED BY RESOLUTION
NO. 59-54 OF SAID CITY COUNCIL.

WHEREAS, this City Council, on the 15th day of
June, 1959, duly adopted Resolution No. 59-54 ordering
the following work to be done or improvement to be made,
to wit, all that certain work or Improvement described in
Resolution No. 59-45, duly adopted by this City Council
on the l8th day of May, 1959; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to and in accordance with said
Resolution No. 59-54, a notice inviting sealed bids or
proposals for doing said work or improvement was duly
published and posted; and
WHEREAS, at the hour of 8:00 o'clock P.M.,
July 20, 1959j at the Council Chambers of this City Council,
the time and place fixed for the opening of sealed bids
or proposals, all sealed bids or proposals for said work
which were delivered to the City Clerk were presented to
this City Council and, in open session, were publicly opened,
examined and declared;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of
Baldwin Park, California, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DETERMINE
AND ORDER as follows:

Section 1, That this City Council does hereby
determine that the bid of
LAIRD PAVING COMPANY,
a corporation, located at
4660 Arrow Highway,
Claremont, California,
Is the lowest regular bid for said work of any responsible
bidder and that said bid is accompanied by a good and suffi
dent proposal bond which is satisfactory to this City
Council, and this City Council does hereby award the con-
tract for said work to the above named bidder at the prices
named in the bid of said bidder.
Section 2. That all bids or proposals for said
work other than the said lowest regular bid above accepted
are hereby rejected and the City Clerk is directed to return
to each bidder whose bid is so rejected the check or bond
which accompanied his bid.
Section 3. Reference is made to said Resolution
No. 59-45 for a full and complete description of said work
and the grades at which the same shall be done, for a descrip
tlon of the district which this City Council has declared to
be the district benefited by said work and to be assessed
to pay the cost and expense thereof, for a description of
the serial bonds to be Issued to represent unpaid assessments
and for further particulars. The work and all proceedings
therefor are and shall be done and performed under and in
accordance with the Improvement Act of 1911, Division 7 of
the Streets and Highways Code.
Section 4. That the City Clerk is hereby directed

to publish twice in the BALDWIN PARK BULLETIN, a newspaper
of general circulation, a notice of this award. Said
notice shall contain the matters and things required by
law and shall be published in the manner required by law.
ADOPTED, SIGNED AND APPROVED this /7 day of

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on the 20th day of
July 1959 9 the City Council of the City of
Baldwin Park California, did, in open session, publicly
open, examine and declare all bids or proposals presented
for the doing of that certain work described in resolution
of intention. Resolution No. 59-45 s and ordered by
Resolution No. 59-54.
The work and proceedings are under and pursuant to
the Improvement Act of 1911^ Division 7 of the Streets and
Highways Code. For a further and more complete description
of said work, for a description of the district which said
City Council has declared to be the district benefited by said
work and to be assessed to pay the cost and expense thereof,
for a description of the serial bonds to be issued to repre-
sent unpaid assessments and for further particulars, reference
is hereby made to said resolution of intention.
For a full and complete description of said work
and for the grades at which said work shall be done, refer-
ence is hereby made to said resolution of intention and to
the following documents on file in the office of the City
Clerk of said city in the City Hall in said city:

pursuant to the requirements of Section 5248 of the Streets
and Highways Code, notice is hereby given that a contract has been
awarded by the City Council of the City of Baldwin Park________
to LAIRD PAVING COMPANY_________, contractor, for certain

street work in the Assessment District No, 1958-10 / and relating
to the following described real propertys
Reference is hereby made to Map of Assessment
District No, 1958-10," approved by the City Council
of the City of Baldwin Park_______ on the
l8th day of May______, 19 59 and on file
with the City Clerk, which map Indicates by a boundary line
the extent of the territory included in the assessment
district, and shall govern for all details as to the
extent of the assessment district.
From the time of recording of this notice in the office of
the County Recorder, all property within the boundaries of the proposed
assessment district shall be assessed to pay the cost of the improvement
in proportion to the benefits which said property receives from the Im-
provement, notwithstanding the subsequent acquisition of any such property
by a public agency.
