HomeMy WebLinkAbout1960 003 CC RESO1960 003 CC RESO ZX ZPHu8RESOLUTION NO. 60-5 A RESOLUTION DECLARING THAT PROCEEDINGS HAVE BEEN INITIATED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK TO ANNEX TO SAID CITY CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESCRIBED HEREIN AND DESIGNATED ANNEXATION NO. 7/' AND GIVING NOTICE OF THE PROPOSED ANNEXATION. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK: 1. That, pursuant to the provisions of the An- nexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939, proceedings have been Initiated by the City Council of the City of Baldwin Park, on its own motion, to annex to the City of Baldwin Park all that uninhabited territory situate in the County of Los Angeles, State of California, hereby designated as Annexation No. 7" and described as follows: Beginning at the most southerly corner of Lot 178 of Tract No. 20533^ as shown on map recorded in Book 540, pages 28 to 30, inclusive, of Maps, in the office of the Recorder of the County of Los Angeles; thence southwesterly in a direct line to the most southerly corner of Lot 185 of said tract, thence southeasterly in a direct line through the most easterly corner of Lot 194 of said tract to the center line of Puente Avenue, as said center line is shown on said map; thence northeasterly along said center line to the northwesterly prolongation of the northeasterly line of Lot 173 of Tract No. 20949, as shown on map recorded in Book 573^ pages 36 to 39, inclusive, of said Maps; thence south- easterly along said prolongation and continuing southeasterly along the boundary of said last mentioned tract to an angle point in the boundary of the City of Baldwin Park, as same existed on December 1, 1959; thence northeasterly, north- westerly, northeasterly and northwesterly along said last mentioned boundary to the northeasterly prolongation of the straight line portion of the northwesterly line of Lot 176 of said Tract No. 20533; thence southwesterly along said last mentioned prolongation and straight line portion and the southwesterly prolongation thereof to the northwesterly prolongation of the southwesterly line of said Lot 178; thence southeasterly in a direct line to the point of beginning. 2. That the City Council of the City of Baldwin Park desires to annex said uninhabited territory to the City of Baldwin Park for the following reasons: The territory is 1- BIB] 38238-U01 1960-U02 003-U02 CC-U02 RESO-U02 LI3-U03 FO52524-U03 FO52560-U03 DO52563-U03 C6-U03 RESO-U03 9/7/2004-U04 ROBIN-U04 1960 003 CC RESO ZX ZPHu8contiguous to the City of Baldwin Park, and its proposed annexation will contribute to and facilitate the orderly growth and development of both the City and the territory proposed to be annexed; will facilitate and contribute to the proper and orderly layout, design and construction of streets, gutters, sidewalks, sanitary and storm water sewers and drainage facilities, both within the City and within the territory proposed to be annexed; and will provide and facilitate proper overall planning and zoning of lands, and subdivision of lands in said City and said uninhabited territory, in a manner most conducive to the welfare of said City and said uninhabited territory. 3. That the County Boundary Commission of Los Angeles County, California, did in session duly assembled on December 17 j 1959^ approve the proposed annexation boun- daries of said Annexation No. 7" as above described, and as submitted to said Commission by the City Council of the City of Baldwin Park. 4. That February 15, I960, at the hour of 8:00 p.m., in the Council Chambers in the City Hall in the City of Baldwin Park, County of Los Angeles, California, is hereby fixed as the time and place when and where any person owning real property within the uninhabited territory above described and proposed to be annexed to the City of Baldwin Park, and having any objections to the proposed annexation, may appear before the City Council of the City of Baldwin Park and show cause why such uninhabited territory should not be so annexed to said City of Baldwin Park. Such protest must be in writ- ing, may be filed at any time before the hour set for hearing objections to the proposed annexation, and shall state the name or names of the owner or owners of property affected, and the description and area of such property, in general terms. 5. The City Clerk of the City of Baldwin Park is hereby authorized and directed to cause a copy of this reso- 2- BIB] 38238-U01 1960-U02 003-U02 CC-U02 RESO-U02 LI3-U03 FO52524-U03 FO52560-U03 DO52563-U03 C6-U03 RESO-U03 9/7/2004-U04 ROBIN-U04 1960 003 CC RESO ZX ZPHu8lutlon to be published at least twice, but not oftener than once a week in a newspaper of general circulation published in the City of Baldwin Park; also in a newspaper of general circulation published outside the City of Baldwin Park but in the County of Los Angeles, California, the county in which is located the territory proposed to be annexed to the City of Baldwin Park; said publication to be complete at least twenty 20) days prior to the date set for hearing, 6. The City Clerk is further authorized and di- rected to post copies of this resolution in three conspic- uous places in the territory to be annexed and to cause written notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed to each person to whom land within the territory proposed to be annexed is assessed in the last equalized county assess- ment roll available on the date the above said proceedings were Initiated, at the addresses shown on said assessment roll or known to the Clerk, and to any person who has filed his name and address and the designation of the lands in which he has an interest, either legal or equitable, with the Clerk, such notice to be given not less than twenty 20) days before the first public hearing on the proposed annexation. 7. In the event any land within the territory proposed to be annexed is owned by a county, the City Clerk is directed to cause written notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed to the Board of Supervisors of the county, such notice to be given not less than twenty 20) days before the first public hearing on the proposed annexa- tion. 8. The City Clerk is directed to cause written notice to be given to such other persons as may be legally entitled thereto, in the manner required by law.
