RESOLUTION GRANTING CONSENT AND JURISDICTION
TO THE COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES
IN THE MATTER OF COUNTY LIGHTING MAINTENANCE DISTRICT NO. 1744
PETITION NO. 101-65
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of the County of Los Angeles is about to
commence proceedings under Division 7 of the Streets and Highways Code, for the
annexation of territory to County Lighting Maintenance District No, 1744 l and
WHEREAS, the proposed annexation will have street lights installed in the
City of Baldwin Park j and
WHEREAS, all of the land included in the proposed annexation lies within
the boundary of the City of Baldwin Park^
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Baldwin Park
as follows;
SECTION 1
That the public interest, convenience and necessity require the maintenance
of a street lighting system located within aaid territory as shown on the maps of
the annexation to County Lighting Maintenance District No* 1744 approved by
the County Boundary Commisnion on the 4th of August. 196$_____, and on file
in the office of the Road Commissioner, as set forth in the proposed Resolution
of Intention of the Board of Supervisors of the County of Los Angeles for thio
annexation, a copy of which resolution, incomplete as to dates and similar
information which can only be inserted at the time of adoption, is attached hereto
and made a part hereof.
SECTION 2
That thia City Council hereby consents to the annexation of said territory
as described in said proposed Resolution of Intention, included within tho
boundaries of said annexation, and lying within the boundary of the City of
Baldwin Park
SECTION 3
That this City Council hereby finds and determines that tho lands included
within the boundary of the proposed annexation as set forth in said proposed
Resolution of Intention, lying within the boundary of the City of Baldwin Park j
will be benefited by the said proposed annexation to tho maintenance district,,
and hereby consents to the inclusion of said lands within the proposed annexation
and to the assessment thereof^

That the consent of this City Council is hereby given to the commencement
of the proceedings for said annexation to County Lighting Maintenance District
No* 1744 by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Los Angeles, and to the
exercise of exclusive jurisdiction of said Board of Supervisors over all
proceedings necessary thereto for the purpose of consummating the same, all in
accordance with the provisions of Division 7 of the Streets and Highways Code.
SECTION g
That the Clerk of the City Council is hereby directed to certify and
deliver two copies of this resolution to the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors
of the County of Los Angeles.
SECTION 6
The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this resolution by the City
Council of the City of Baldwin Park and shall cause the same to be posted in
three 3) conspicuous places in the City of Baldwin Park and it shall thereupon
take effect.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was adopted by the City
Council of the City of Baldwin Park at its meeting held August 13_______,

Room of the Board of Supervisors, Room 381, Hall of Administration, $00 West
Temple Street corner of Temple Street and Grand Avenue), Los Angeles 12,
California, as the place, for hearing upon the question of annexation of
said territory, when and where any and all persons having objections to the
proposed annexation or to the inclusion of any property within the proposed
annexation, may appear before said Board of Supervisors and show cause why
said proposed annexation should not be made in accordance with this resolution
of intention,
The Clerk is hereby directed to cause notice of the time, place and
purpose of said hearing to be published once a week for two successive weeks
in the a newspaper of
general circulation which the Board of Supervisors deems most likely to give
notice of said hearing to the inhabitants of said district and of said
territory proposed to be annexed; and to cause notices of said hearing to
be posted not less than 10 days prior to the date set for the hearing in
three conspicuous places within the territory proposed to be annexed and
within said County Lighting Maintenance District No. 1744 j and to cause
postcard notices to be mailed to all inhabitants of the area to be annexed
to said County Lighting Maintenance District, all in the fonn and manner
prescribed in section $838 of the Streets and Hi^iways Code.

In the City of Baldwin Park)
Beginning at the intersection of the center line of
Vineland Avenue as shown on map of Tract No, 28929 recorded
in Book 713? pages 12 to 2? inclusive of Maps, in the office
of the Recorder of the County of Los Angeles, with the north-
westerly prolongation of the northeasterly line of said tract;
thence southeasterly in a direct line to the most northerly
corner of said tract; thence southeasterly along the boundary
of said tract and following the same in all its various courses
and curves to the most westerly corner of said tract; thence
northwesterly at right angles from the northwesterly line of
said tract to said center line; thence northeasterly along said
center line to the point of beginning.

RESOLUTION OF INTENTION TO ANNEX TERRITORY TO
COUNTY LIGHTING MAINTENANCE DISTRICT NO. 1744
PETITION NO. 101-65
The Board of Supervisors of the County of Los Angeles, State of California,
hereby finds, determines and resolves:
1. That public interest and convenience require that the benefited
territory hereinafter described, all of which territory lies in the County
of Los Angeles, be annexed to, and it is the intention of the Board of
Supervisors to order that it be annexed to, included within, and hereafter
be a part of County Lighting Maintenance District No. 1744 pursuant
to and in accordance with sections 5837 et seq» of the Streets and Highways
Code of the State of California, as amended.
2» The territory proposed to be so annexed consists of the area outlined
on the attached map*
