A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN
PARK ADVOCATING A FEDERAL REVENUE-
SHARING PROGRAM.
WHEREAS, local governments throughout the United
States face a critical problem of financing services to their
constituents, and
WHEREAS, the Federal government has preempted major
sources of revenue which could be utilized by counties and
cities, and
WHEREAS, the President of the United States has
proposed a revenue-sharing program to the Congress which
would be a major step in solving the financial dilemma of
counties and cities.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Baldwin Park, California, that all cities and
counties of California support the concept of revenue sharing
along with the President's proposal to the U. S. Congress
advocating appropriate legislation and budget allocation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk shall
certify to the adoption of this resolution and forward copies
to California's Senatorial and Congressional delegation in
Washington, D. C-, to Chairman Wilber Mills of the Ways and
Means Committee and to as many other Federal and local officials
and organizations as may be deemed appropriate.
