A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN
PARK APPROVING A ZONE VARIANCE TO CONSTRUCT GARDES WITHOUT
DOORS. LOCATIONS 12726-12732 TORCH STREET; APPLICANT;
SHAPELL GOVERNMENT HOUSING; CASE NO.: ZV-2521
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOW:
SECTION 1. That the Cifry Council of the City of Baldwin Park does hereby find,
determine id declare, as follow:
a. That the owners of certain real property located at 12726-12732 Torch Street in
the City of Baldwin Pa-k, County of Loa Angeles, State of California, as is ore particu-
Itt-ly described in Fleming Ccission Resolution No. PC71-W, haw heretofore made app-
lication for a zone variice to allow the construction of garaoes without doors; and,
b. That said natter was the subject of a public hearing before the Planning Cow-
ission of said City which denied the said application; and,
c. That. a timely appeal was filed, appealing the decision of the Cc—ission to
the City Council; and,
d. That said latter was duly considered by the City Council at a duly noticed public
hewing, and based upon the evidence presented, the Planning Coauission's records and files
and each meMber of the Council being fit liar with the site. It was determined that the
facts required by Section 9471 of the Baldwin Park Municipal Code were present and that
the said zone vviance should be granted as hereinafter described.
SECTION 2. That the described zone variance be, and the seme hereby is, granted,
subject to the following conditions:
1) That such garages nay be constructed without garage doors, except that garage doors
shall be required on g«r^es which ate located beneath an apartment unit, and each such
garage, for which a door will be required hereunder, shall be constructed with one-hour
fire walls as shown on the construction plans.
2) That all landscaping shall be installed and maintained as shown on said cons-
truction plans; and
3) That no storage, other than motor vehicle shall be permitted in garage; and,
4) That the applicant shall comply with alJ applicable laws, including, but not
limited to, the Baldwin Park municipal Code.
SECTION 3. That the City Clerk shall certify the adoption of this Resolution and
shall forward a certified copy hereof to the Secretary of the Planning Commission and
the applicant.
ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 20th day of October, 1971.
