A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK CALLING AND
GIVING NOTICE OF A SPECIAL MUNICIPAL
ELECTION IN SAID CITY, FOR THE RECALL
OF A CERTAIN MUNICIPAL OFFICER AND
THE ELECTION OF A SUCCESSOR, TO BE
HELD ON THE 11TH DAY OF APRIL, 1972,
AND CONSOLIDATING SAID SPECIAL ELEC-
TION WITH THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL
ELECTION TO BE HELD ON THE lltH DAY
OF APRIL, 1972.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK DOES
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the City Council of the City of
Baldwin Park does hereby find, determine and declare
as follows:
a) That a petition demanding the recall
of Councilman Russell Blewect has been submitted
to the City Clerk; and
b) That the City Clerk has examined said
petition, has found it to be legally sufficient,
and h^s forwarded the same to the City Council; and
c) That pursuant to applicable law, the
City Council is required to order a special
municipal election to determine whether the
voters will recall the officer against whom
said petition was filed; and
d) That Tuesday, the llth day of April,
1972, is hereby established as the day of said
special municipal election; and
e) That the questions to be decided at
said special election are as follows:
1) Whether Councilman Russell Blewett
shall be recalled; and
2) Who, from those persons nominated
in the manner required by law, shall
succeed the incumbent if he is
recalled from office.
f) That a general municipal election will
be held and conducted in said City on April 11,
1972, and it is in the public interest to con-
solidate said special election with said general
municipal election; and
g) That said election shall be held and
conducted in accordance with the provisions of
this Resolution, and all laws applicable thereto.

SECTION 2. That notice is hereby given that, on
the llth day of April, 1972, a special municipal election
will be held and conducted in the City of Baldwin Park,
County of Los Angeles, State of California, for the
following purposes:
a) To determine whether Russell Blewett
shall be recalled from his office as councilman
of the City of Baldwin Park, State of California;
and
b) To determine who, from those persons
nominated in the manner required by law, shall
succeed to the incumbent's office, for the
remainder of the term thereof, if the incum-
bent should be recalled.
SECTION 3. That the said special election, above
called and described, shall be, and hereby is ordered,
consolidated with the general municipal election to be
held in the said City on April 11, 1972. That the said
consolidated special election shall be held and conducted
in accordance with the provisions of this Resolution, the
Resolutions relating to said general municipal election,
and the Elections Code of the State of California.
SECTION 4. That this Resolution shall take effect
immediately upon its adoption.
SECTION 5. That the City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this Resolution.

1972.
