SALARIES OF APPOINTIVE OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES The salaries of appointive officers and employees, not otherwise prescribed, shall be as follows, effective July 1, 1972 A. EXPLANATION OF CLASSIFIED PAY HAH The pay plan for the classified series shall be applied as follows: A. SCHEDDLE NPKBERS. The column headed Schedule Numbers" contains a list of the schedule numbers assigned to the various positions in the classified series. B. PAY STEPS. The columns headed A", B". C", D" and E" and entitled Pay Steps" contain the basic monthly rates for each of the positions in the classified series. Step A" represents the starting level of pay. After six 6) months of satisfactory service has been completed, the pay shall be advanced to Step B", thereafter the pay shall be advanced to the next higher step after one 1) year of satisfactory service in the current step, provided the Department Head recommends and the City Manager approves such advancement. C. ANNIVERSARY DATES. The period of satisfactory service toward step advancement shall begin on the anniversary date. Anniversary dates shall fall on the 1st and 15th day of the month for all entry steps, step increases, reclassifications or promotions, whichever is closest to the actual date the employee commences work or is advanced. D. RECIASSIFICATION AND PROMOTION. Any employee who is reclassified or promoted to a position having a higher schedule number than the position he occupies shall commence work in the higher schedule at a pay step that is a minimum of 5% increase above the rate of pay he was receiving when reclassified or promoted. Conversely, any employee who is reclassified downward shall work in the lower schedule at a pay step equal to the rate of pay he was receiving when reclassified. SECTION 3. DIFFERENTIAL PAY. Whenever the work week for a police officer consists of one of the following, the basic salary for such police officer shall be adjusted as hereinafter indicated. POLICE ASSIGNMENT ADD 1. Investigator or Detective 5% of current salary 2. Detective Sergeant 5% of current salary 3. Dog Handler 5% of current salary 4. Community Relations 5% of current salary 5. Administrative Assistant 5% of current salary 6. Intermediate Certificate 2^% of current salary 7. Advanced Certificate 5% of current salary SECTION 4. OVERTIME. Any employee working overtime shall be compensated by equivalent time off as full compensation for the overtime worked. However, 1. Members of the Public Works field crew shall be paid one and one-half times their prescribed rate of pay for emergency overtime. 2. Minute clerks if required to take minutes at any regular, special or executive meetings of the City Council, or any other co—aission or comaittee appointed by the City Council, other than during normal working hours shall be paid time and one-half. 4. Police Technician and Dispatchers shall be paid tine and one-half for emergency call out duty if approved by Department Head. 5. All other employees required to work on emergency overtime shall be paid time and one-half, SECTION 5. BAY PERIODS. There shall be two pay periods in every month. The first pay period shall be from the 1st through the 15th of the month; the second pay period shall be from the 16th through the last day of the month. SECTION 6. BATES WHEN SALARIES ABE TO BE PAID, Salaries and compensation earned during the second pay period shall be paid on the 5th day of the following month; salaries and compensation earned during the first pay period shall be paid on the 20th of the month. When City offices are to be closed on the 5th or 20th days of the month, salaries and compensation shall be paid on the next preceding day on which City offices are open. SECTION 7. Nothing contained in this resolution shall be construed as guaranteeing to any employee or official of the City any vested interest in any salary or position. SECTION 8. That all Resolutions or portions thereof, in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. SECTION 9. That this Resolution shall take effect on July 1, 1972. SECTION 10.
