A RESOLUTION OP TW CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK APPROVING A
ZONE VARIANCE TO CONSTRUCT A FREE-
STANDING SIGN IN EXCESS OF THE HEIGHT
LIMITATION AND BACKGROUND SIGN FACE
AREA APPLICANT: STANDARD OIL CO;
CASE NO. ZV-270; LOCATION: 3106 PUENTE
AVENUE).
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK DOES
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the City Council of the City of
Baldwin Park does hereby find, determine and declare, as
follows:
a) That the Planning Commission of
the City of Baldwin Park conducted a duly
noticed public hearing on an application
for a zone variance to construct a free-
standing sign in excess of the height
limitation on certain hereafter described
real property; and
b) That the property to which said
zone variance application relates is located
at 3106 Puente Avenue in the City of Baldwin
Park, County of Los Angeles, State of Cali-
fornia, more particularly described as:
Parcel 1, Page 20 of the 1971 Los
Angeles County Assessor's Map Book
No. 8460
c) That the action of the Commission
in approving the variance only in part was
timely appealed to the City Council; and
d) That the City Council conducted
a duly noticed public hearing upon said
application and based upon the evidence
presented, applicable staff reports and
each member of the Council being familiar
with the site, it was determined that said
zone variance should be granted as requested,
subject to certain terms and conditions as
hereinafter set forth.
SECTION 2. That the above described zone variance be,
and the same hereby is, approved subject to the following
conditions:
a) That the freestanding sign applied
for shall not be of a height in excess of
85 feet; and
b) That said sign shall have a back-
ground face area, double faced, not in excess
of 360 sq. feet; and
c) That the sign shall not be con-
structed until the station is remodeled
in accordance with CP-181.

d) That the applicant submit plans in
compliance with the conditions of this reso-
lution before construction of the sign can
begin; and
e) That the zone variance shall become
null and void if all conditions are not met
within twelve 12) months after the adoption of
this resolution.
SECTION 3. That the City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this resolution and shall forward a copy hereof
to the Secretary of the Planning Commission and to the
applicant.
