HomeMy WebLinkAbout1972 140 CC RESO1972 140 CC RESO(ÌìýÔÏRESOLUTION NO. 72-140 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK ENDORSING CALIFORNIA BALLOT PROPOSITION NO. 18 OBSCENITY LEGISLATION) BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1: Proposition 18 on the November 7, 1972 ballot proposes to amend certain statutes regulating obscene matter and obscene conduct with respect to minors, and would add additional specific provisions and penalties thereof. SECTION 2: The City Council of the City of Baldwin Park believes that counties, cities, and other political subdivisions" of the State should be permitted to separately regulate these matters in accordance with standards generally prevailing with- in these referred to local governing agencies. SECTION 3: The City Council of does, therefore, convey its sanction sition 18 appearing on the ballot of California General Election. the City of Baldwin Park and endorsement of Propo- the November 7, 1972 SECTION 4: The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this Resolution and the same shall thereupon take effect and be in force.
