A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF BALDWIN PARK CALLING A PUBLIC
HEARING TO DETERMINE WHETHER PUBLIC
NECESSITY. HEALTH, SAFETY. OR WELFARE
REQUIRES THE FORMATION OF UNDERGROUND
UTILITY DISTRICTS IN THE AREAS BOUNDED
BY PACIFIC AVENUE. MAINE AVENUE. RAMONA
BOULEVARD, LORAY PLACE. AND BALDWIN PARK
BOULEVARD FROM THE LIBRARY ON THE NORTH,
RAHONA BOULEVARD, LARICA AVENUE TO THE
NORTHERLY BOUNDARY OF TRACT NO. 17496.
DISTRICTS 2 AND 3)
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Baldwin Park as
follows:
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 525 establishes a procedure for the creation
of underground utility districts and requires as the initial step in such pro-
cedure the holding of a public hearing to ascertain whether public necessity.
health, safety, or welfare requires the removal of poles, overhead wires and
associated overhead structures and the underground installation of wires and
fMllltles for suflplying electric, communication, or similar or associated
service in any such district; and
WHEREAS, ft has been i^commended that such underground utility districts,
hereinafter call Districts, be formed in the areas bounded by Pacific Avenue.
Maine Avenue, Ramona Boulevard. Loray Place, and Baldwin Park Boulevard from the
Library on the North, Ramona Boulevard, LaRica Avenue to the Northerly boundary
of Tract No. 17496, all in the City of Baldwin Park, County of Los Angeles, State
of California, generally described as follows:
UNDERGROUND UTILITY DISTRICT NO. 2 Beginning at the southeast corner
of Ramona Boulevard and Maine Avenue as it existed April, 1973); thence south-
westerly along the northwesterly line of Tract Map 899» in the City of Baldwin
Park. County of Los Angeles, State of California, as per map recorded in Book 18,
page 95 of maps in the office of the recorder of said County to its point of
intersection with the centerline of Loray Place as it existed April, 1973);
thence southeasterly along said centerline of Loray Place to its point of inter-
section with the cwterllne of Maine Avenue as it existed April, 1973); thence
southwesterly alonj said centerline of Maine Avenue to Its point of Intersection
with the centerline of Adoue Place as it existed April, 1973); thence south-
easterly along said centerline of Adoue Place to a line that is parallel with
and distant iTO feet southeasterly measured at right angles from said centerline
of Maine Avenue; thence northeasterly along the above mentioned parallel Tine to
the northeasterly line of Lot 74 of said Tract No. 899; thence southeasterly along
said northeasterly line of Lot 74 to a line that is parallel with and distant 20
feet measured at right angles from the southeasterly line of said Tract No* 899;
thence northeasterly along last mentioned parallel line to its intersection with
the prolongation of the northeasterly line of Pacific Avenue as it existed April.
1973); thence northwesterly along said northeasterly line of Pacific Avenue to the
easterly line of Maine Avenue as it existed April. 1973); thence northerly to the
point of beginning.
UNDERGROUND UTILITY DISTRICT NO. 3 Beginning at the Intersection of
the centerline of LaRica Avenue as it existed April, 1973) and the prolongation
of the northerly line of Tract No. 17496 in the City of Baldwin Park, County of
Los Angeles, State of California as per map recorded in Book 618. pages; 12-13 of
maps in the office of the recorder of said County); thence easterly along said
northerly tine of Tract No. 17496 to a line that Is parallel with and distant 70
feet westerly measured at right angles from the centerline of Baldwin Park Boule-
vard as shown on Tracit No. 17496); thence northerly along above mentioned parallel
tine to a line that is parallel with and distant northerly 430 feet measured at
right angles from said northerly line of Tract No. 17496; thence easterly along
last mentioned parallel line to its intersection with said centerline of Baldwin
Park Boulevard; thence southerly along said centerline of Baldwin Park Boulevard
to its Intersection with the centerline of Ramona Boulevard as it existed April.

intersection with said centerline of LaRica Avenue; thence northwesterly and
northerly along said centerline of LaRica Avenue to the point of beginning.

1973 081 CC RESO (Ìì ÿ Ê NOW. THEREFORE, be it resolved as follows:
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing will be held by the
City Council of the City of Baldwin Park on June 6. 1973, at the hour of 7:30 P.M.,
in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, Baldwin Park, California, to ascertain
whether the public necessity, health, safety or welfare requires the removal of
poles, overhead wires and associated overhead structures and the underground in-
stallation of wires and facilities for supplying electric, communication, or
similar associated service in the Districts hereinabove described.
2. At such hearing all persons interested shall be given an opportunity
to be heard. Said hearing may be continued from time to time as may be determined
by the City Council.
3. The City Clerk shall notify all affected property owners as shown on
the last equalized assessment roll and utilities concerned of the time and place
of such hearing by mailing a copy of this resolution to such property owners and
utilities concerned at least ten 10) days prior to the date thereof.
4. The areas proposed to be included in the Districts are shown upon
those certain maps entitled. Underground Utility District No. 2 and Underground
Utility District No. 3, which are on file in the office of the City Clerk of the
City of Baldwin Park.
